Preview: Warrior Wrestling — Stadium Series Night 1 (9/12/20)

Warrior Wrestling Stadium Series Night 1

Warrior Wrestling has become one of the hottest independent promotions in wrestling as they continue to have an incredible mix of talent from All Elite Wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and the independent wrestling scene goes at it in excellent matches. This weekend will be no different as Warrior Wrestling returns with their massive Stadium Series in Chicago Heights, IL as Night 1 a gigantic main event on tap that has been hype for weeks. Here’s the full preview for that and the entire card.

Alex Shelley vs. TJP

Alex Shelley vs TJP Warrior Wrestling

Two of IMPACT’s finest are set to compete as one-half of the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions, Alex Shelley takes on TJP. Shelley is making the rounds recently with a stellar match after stellar match while also bringing back the Motor City Machine Guns to win gold almost instantly. Pretty impressive for a guy who was retired. TJP is no one to scoff at either, as the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is one of wrestling’s best technical performers and will put on a show with Shelley as his dance partner on Saturday night. This one is a must-watch.

Brian Cage vs. Benjamin Carter

Warrior Wrestling Brian Cage vs Benjamin Carter

A match that was supposed to happen two weeks from now will be moved up and it should be expected to deliver. AEW’s Brian Cage was originally scheduled to face Alex Zayne this weekend but due to injury, that will be postponed two weeks. Meaning that the uberly talented up and comer Benjamin Carter will get his shot at Cage a bit earlier. Carter has been lighting up the independent’s here in the United States with his awesome high flying ability and will be a problem for Cage on Saturday night. All eyes on this one.

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor vs. Kevin Ku

Lawlor vs Ku Warrior Wrestling

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor makes his Warrior Wrestling return to take on Kevin Ku in singles action. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion hasn’t had the best of luck in Warrior Wrestling as of late, losing his last two bouts to Minoru Suzuki and Killer Kross. It seems to be a perfect opportunity for Ku to try and steal one of his biggest victories to date on Lawlor. Ku is fresh off of a win at BLP’s Through Being Cool which could help give him the momentum to upset Lawlor. He does have a tag team win over him after all.

Kimber Lee vs. Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa vs Kimber Lee Warrior Wrestling

Thunder Rosa has been quite busy over the past couple of weeks and why stop there? The reigning, defending NWA Women’s Champion is fresh off of AEW’s All Out event where she came up short against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship. And next week, she will be defending that title as well. But before looking ahead, she has to try and defeat the SHIMMER Champion, Kimber Lee. Lee has been keeping herself busy as a member of IMPACT Wrestling’s Knockouts Division and now has a major match here with Rosa. Both women are some of the best the world has to offer and could give the match of the night Saturday.

Joey Janela vs. Warhorse

Janela vs Warhorse

Oh boy, this one is going to be fun. Joey Janela and Warhorse will go at it this Saturday and you can expect some good wrestling and some serious character as well. Janela has been finding his indie spark once again since the independents returned a number of months ago including a match with Lio Rush and most recently a win over Effy at GCW Bring Em Out. Warhorse, on the other hand, has been continuing his skyrocket to popularity since his TNT Championship match against Cody on AEW Dynamite in July. Who knows what these two have planned.

Dan The Dad vs. Elayna Black

Dan The Dad vs Elayna Black

Dan The Dad and Elayna Black are keeping busy and will be going head-to-head in one of the underrated matches on the card. As the current Alpha-1 Zero Gravity Champion, Dan has to be seen as the favorite in this one. But Black should not be doubted, as her most current outings in GCW and Black Label Pro have put her on the map to be someone to watch.

The Rascalz vs. Chris Bey, Myron Reed, & Jordan Oliver

Warrior Wrestling Rascalz Bey Oliver Reed

Jaw-dropping. That will probably best describe what’s to come Saturday when The Rascalz face Myron Reed, Jordan Oliver, and Chris Bey. An immense amount of talent is involved here as the MLW Middleweight Champion Reed will continue his impressive rise to stardom alongside his usual partner Oliver. Oliver is one of the independent’s fines and has another opportunity to shine. Of course, Chris Bey is going to show the world why he is one of the absolute best as well. And when it comes to The Rascalz, you know they are going to deliver. It was just last month that The Rascalz walked out of Warrior Wrestling 9 victorious and they will look to do so again against an incredible trio.

Isaias Velazquez vs. Daga

Daga vs Velazquez

The former 2-time Freelance World Champion Isaias Velazquez is set for an eye-opening matchup with IMPACT Wrestling’s Daga. Velazquez scored a major win two weeks ago when he defeated Alex Shelley at BLP’s Erick Stevens Presents Pro Wrestling. He seems to be an IMPACT Wrestling hunter considering that win and this match coming up. If I’m Daga, I am watching out. Of course, Daga is very capable of protecting himself with his hard-hitting, high-flying style. Another fantastic one to watch.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Kylie Rae

Warrior Wrestling Kylie Rae

The match is being call “the biggest women’s match in wrestling history.” While that is one heck of a statement, there is plenty of intrigue behind this one. What we know for sure is that Kylie Rae will be in attendance to wrestle in the main event. Her past few months have been nothing short of incredible considering her huge win at Slammiversary, her time in Wrestle House, and her eventual upcoming match with Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship. Her independent matches have continued to steal the shows and now she will have what is considered the biggest against someone who is “undeniable.”

Smart guess says it will be the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion, Tessa Blanchard. A major match if true, as Blanchard has been MIA since she was stripped of the IMPACT World Championship and released from the company. If this is her, then this is a major return that will have every eye to see how she bounces back and if she can still go. Our guess is yes and our guess is also this will be the match that everyone hopes for.
