News broke Tuesday via the NWA Pod on Twitter that the National Wrestling Alliance’s successful YouTube series, Ten Pounds of Gold is returning. The series was paramount in the revitalization of the NWA brand under Billie Corgan. In this iteration, it will detail the upcoming clash between Michael Bennett and Nick Aldis. Aldis, of course, is the current reigning and defending holder of the infamous Ten Pounds of Gold, sometimes called Sweet Charlotte.

Bennett, in his first major move post-WWE release, issued a challenge to Aldis for the Ten Pounds of Gold. The clash is set for the new show, co-produced by David Marquez and the NWA, Prime Time Live on September 15th. It’s also the NWA’s first foray back into the wrestling bubble in the new COVID-19 era. As it has done with the title clashes for Cody Rhodes and Tim Storm, Ten Pounds of Gold will be the story vehicle of this feud. The NWA’s niche has always been a digital platform as they do not currently have any form of television deal.
The first episode of the newest chapter of the Ten Pounds of Gold will premiere at 6:00 PM Eastern Time Tuesday night, on the NWA YouTube channel. We will delve beyond the initial videos of Bennett’s challenge and Aldis’ answer as they begin to craft this new story.
