Renee Young Confirms She Has COVID-19

Renee Young

It was revealed early Wednesday afternoon via Pro Wrestling Sheet that WWE had “multiple cases” of COVID-19. This comes just one week after it was revealed that one unnamed Performance Center trainee had COVID-19 from the June 9 tapings. On Wednesday night, WWE personality Renee Young confirmed on Twitter that she has COVID-19.

The news comes also hours after Jon Moxley, AEW World Champion and husband of Renee Young, had to pull out of Wednesday night’s Dynamite show due to someone close to him coming down with the disease. It’s all connected.

Young was last seen on WWE television this past Friday night on SmackDown as she played host to AJ Styles‘ Intercontinental Championship celebration. The same celebration that had more than 10 superstars surrounding the ring and saw Matt Riddle debut on the show. She was not appearing on WWE Backstage in a studio, as that was done via video before being canceled earlier this week.

While no other talents or personnel have been confirmed to have the virus, there is a fair chance that some could speak up in the coming days. According to a report by Post Wrestling, WWE plans to continue their tapings on Friday and Saturday for the coming weeks, with reshuffled shows due to the missing talent.

We wish Young and all the others who have tested positive a speedy recovery during these times.

Be sure to check back for any more news regarding the WWE and COVID-19 reports.
