Preview: WWE NXT (6/24/20)

In what has been a torrid, lengthy week for professional wrestling, WWE NXT returns this Wednesday.  As has become tradition in the lock-down era, only a couple of segments have been promoted in advance.  However, what we have could make for an entertaining show.  Don’t believe me? Check it out!

Cameron Grimes vs Damian Priest

WWE NXT
Darren Grimes vs Damian Priest

Both Cameron Grimes and Damian Priest have been featured more prominently in recent weeks, with high-profile matches against Keith Lee and Finn Balor shared between them.  This week, they come face-to-face with each other.  How did this feud come to be? Well it involves Priest’s destroyed car and Grimes.  The Archer of Infamy wants revenge for his ride and he’s going to try to get it this Wednesday.  With Priest possessing the clear size and strength advantage in this match, I wouldn’t want to be Grimes.

Karrion Kross vs Bronson Reed

We love the big-hoss type slugfest here in NXT.  Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic, for example, are two men who have proven the behemoths can work a great match.  Bronson Reed and Karrion Kross are another two men who can do similar.  Since explosively debuting in NXT a few weeks back, Kross has quickly established himself as the main threat to Adam Cole‘s legendary NXT title reign.  Perhaps more than any previous challenger, Kross – accompanied by Scarlett Bordeaux – is the most likely to end Cole’s lengthy reign at the top.  Reed is an entertaining, impressive specimen himself.  Can he pull off the upset here? Tune in to find out.

NXT North American Championship: Keith Lee (c) vs Finn Balor vs Johnny Gargano

Photo: WWE NXT

Johnny Gargano has been feuding with NXT North American champion Keith Lee for a few weeks now.  Gargano and wife, Candice LeRae, have been tormenting Lee and wife, Mia Yim ever since their heel turn a couple of months back.  Clearly, this is building to a mixed-match tag team match between the two happy couples.  This week, they have a guest injected into their feud: Finn Balor.  Balor currently has his eyes set on reclaiming the NXT Championship and should he win here, he goes on to face Adam Cole in a “Winner Takes All” match.  This could very well happen.  However, as we all know, Kross and Bordeaux have also been playing mind-games with Cole.  Kross clearly wants the championship.  Therefore, whoever wins here will have a massive target on their back.  Regardless, it’s going to be an excellent, must-see main event so make sure you tune into USA Network to watch NXT at 8/7c this Wednesday.
