Preview: AEW Dynamite (4/1/20)

AEW Dynamite

This week’s installment of AEW Dynamite is again from behind closed doors.  In-line with global action against the COVID-19 pandemic, numbers in attendance have to be low.  With Jacksonville introducing stricter measures, AEW has moved to an undisclosed location to film tonight’s episode.  Despite AEW having no crowd over the past few weeks, they have put on some great shows.  Can the streak continue? Here’s what’s in store for tonight.

Kenny Omega vs Trent

On last week’s Dynamite, Kenny Omega successfully defended his AAA Mega Championship against Sammy GuevaraTrent – with tag partner, Chuck Taylor – was defeated by The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix).  Coming into this match, one must assume Kenny Omega claims the victory here.  Can Trent – potentially with the help of Taylor – pull off an upset? We will have to wait and see.

Cody & Darby Allin vs Shawn Spears & Sammy Guevara

AEW Dynamite

Head honcho Cody is teaming up with Darby Allin this week.  Allin has won his last two matches in AEW, against Kip Sabian and Sammy Guevara – the latter of whom he will be facing in this match.  Guevara finds himself teaming with Shawn Spears.  This could prove to be an interesting, fun match.  Allin and Guevara have established themselves as two of the top younger wrestlers currently occupying the roster.  With the addition of two veterans in Cody and Spears, this could be a great match.

Lance Archer Debuts

AEW Dynamite

A few weeks ago, Jake “The Snake” Roberts introduced his new client to All Elite Wrestling: Lance Archer.  Standing at 6″7 and having years of in-ring experience, Archer poses a serious threat to much of the AEW roster.  Tonight, he makes his in-ring debut for the promotion.  What does he have in store for the opponent unlucky enough to face him? We will have to find out.  One thing is for sure; the Murder Hawk is looking for blood.

Whereas this is the currently billed show for tonight, there will be some additions.  Where does Brodie Lee fit in? Or Matt Hardy? Additionally, the four remaining names in the tournament to crown the inaugural TNT Champion will be announced.  Tonight’s show should prove to be a fun one, so stay inside and tune-in to AEW Dynamite.

Late Addition: The Natural Nightmares Debut

When writing previews, there is always the possibility that an addition is made after the preview is written.  That was the case today as it has now been announced The Natural Nightmares shall be making their in-ring debut.  Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall – with Brandi Rhodes – will be stepping into the ring to face another tag team.  What will happen? Who will the opponents be? Find out on AEW Dynamite tonight!
