Preview: WRESTLE RAMPAGE – Year Of The Rat (1/3/20)

Adelaide’s premier wrestling company returns to the Lion Arts Factory in 2020.

This opening show of the year will begin celebrations for Rat Daddy, who captured the Australian National Championship from Punch-Drunk Istria to close out 2019.

The past 12 months have proven to be a period of transition for WRESTLE RAMPAGE as three young guns ascended the ranks to become the top dogs. Can Rat Daddy, Tommy Knight, and Corndog carry their momentum over into 2020?

Joey Graham vs ‘Heart-Throb’ Corey Adams

Year Of The Rat

Before walking away from wrestling to pursue life as a rock star Joey Graham was considered one of the most naturally gifted talents to ever grace WRESTLE RAMPAGE. This weekend after what feels like an eternity he will return to the ring, with his brother Pat by his side, to “shake up” WRESTLE RAMPAGE.

Welcoming Graham back to the world of wrestling will be the youngster ‘Heart-Throb’ Corey Adams. At the final show of 2019, Adams captured a shock victory over Einar Ironside to prove that he is more than just a pretty face. This weekend he will be looking to continue that momentum and make 2020 his breakout year.

Kellyanne vs Kingsley

At the final show of 2019 Xena, one-half of Sydney’s hottest tag teams LUX, made her debut for WRESTLE RAMPAGE. This weekend her partner Kingsley will now make her debut as she looks to avenge Xena’s loss to Kellyanne.

Can the quick-witted, fast-talking, tea spilling Kingsley get the upset victory and revenge over one of Australia’s most accomplished talents?

Havok vs ‘The Sniper’ Nick Golfis

Year Of The Rat

It’s experience versus youth when the youngest member of the roster makes his long-awaited return from injury.

After being sidelined with a fractured ankle for three and half months ‘The Sniper’ Nick Golfis is finally set to return to in-ring action in 2020. In the early half of 2019 and with the guidance of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s own Robbie Eagles, Golfis was poised to be the breakout star of the year until tragedy struck. A fractured ankle would then see Golfis’ year ended. Can he immediately regain the momentum with a victory over the veteran Havok?

Foxy Boys (Malcolm Onley & Aaron Onley) vs Big & Gorgeous (‘Big’ Willy Gibson & ‘Gorgeous’ Greg Graham)

The tag team young guns The Foxy Boys face their stiffest challenge yet when they clash with Big and Gorgeous this weekend.

The tag team specialist Willy Gibson and Greg Graham have shown throughout their careers that they are some of the county’s best. This weekend they’ll be looking to capture another victory and further establish their dominance in the tag division.

Rat Daddy & Tommy Knight vs Punch-Drunk Istria & Hartley Jackson

Year Of The Rat

In a once in a lifetime dream matchup the WRESTLE RAMPAGE fans will get to witness a generational battle which will set the tone for the company in 2020.

Standing in one corner will be the new generation team of Rat Daddy and Tommy Knight. Individually these two men have proven on numerous occasions that they are the future of the professional wrestling in not only Adelaide but Australia. Are they ready to grab the reigns now or will the veterans hold on for just a little longer?

Those veterans looking to prevent that generational shift from happening are the team of Punch-Drunk Istria and Hartley Jackson. With a combined 30 years of experience, three Australian National Championship Reigns and countless international tours between them, this duo is certainly not one to be taken lightly.

During his almost year-long title reign, before ultimately relinquishing the belt to Rat Daddy, Istria proved to be a vicious, and unrelenting competing. Now with the added anger of losing the title and revenge on his mind, Istria could very well prove to be a scary individual to cross paths with.
