Preview: WWE – Starrcade (12/1/19)

Starrcade

This is Starrcade! Yes, that’s right. WWE is continuing its biggest live event special this Sunday on the WWE Network for the third-straight year as Starrcade once again revived for this special network event. After being announced last night, we now know it will air on the WWE Network at 7 p.m. EST as both Raw and SmackDown will be on tap. And here at Last Word On Pro Wrestling, we got you covered on the entire card that will actually be airing live on the special. Let’s jump in.

The Kevin Owens Show with Special Guest, Ric Flair

It was announced on this week’s episode of “The Bump” that “The Kevin Owens Show” would return with a special guest. That special guest would be none other than the legend himself, Ric Flair. While it was not said what they would be discussing or what could come from this, but with both Kevin Owens and Ric Flair in the squared circle, it should be plenty of entertainment. The legend will be in Duluth, Ga. all over again and something will surely be made of it. Starrcade. Ric Flair. Who could ask for more? Owens is a great part to be included as “more”.

Rusev vs Bobby Lashley in a Last Man Standing

The rivalry that will never end. But it’s time to give a little bit of credit. To the point that Rusev finally did something that made sense this week. He beat down the man that has made his life hell. Not only beat him down but destroyed him to the point where Bobby Lashley went crashing through tables then had one of the beams on the stage go crashing down on him. Less than a week from that moment, these two will go one-on-one after all this time. And it won’t just be singles action, but instead, a Last Man Standing match that perfectly fits this feud. After weeks of fighting over Lana, it all comes down to this one and should be nothing short of physical and devastating between the two. If Rusev loses, he is a chump.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) vs Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs Bayley & Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Both brands have an even shot at taking home the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in this one. And what we also know about this one is it will be absolute chaos between these four teams. The Kabuki Warriors will take on their biggest challenge to date as they defend the championships in this Fatal Four-Way action. Charlotte Flair and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will try and bring home the titles while not being too much on the same page. “The Man” has made it clear that she is preparing to set a new record. For those who may not know it, Lynch is now officially the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion ever. She aims to win those tag titles and do the same with those, even if she is teaming with Charlotte.

On the SmackDown side will be the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley teaming with Sasha Banks. This team, besides the tag champs, will more than likely be the most compatible for sure which they could very well use to their advantage. This also stands as a match for Bayley to get back on track following Survivor Series where she took the losing fall. And the final team in the mix are former women’s tag champs themselves, as Alexa Bliss returns to action to team with Nikki Cross and try to get back their championships. So, when it comes down to it… who walks out as the champions? Something tells me #AndNEW could be something being said on Sunday.

These special events on the WWE Network have proven to be totally hit or miss at times, but with this card, it should be a fun show for all in attendance and those who intend to view it on the network.
