Raw Highlights Rundown – Rey Mysterio Wins US Championship (11/25/19)

Raw

In just one night following Survivor Series, the fallout has led to the landscape of Monday Night Raw being completely flipped following their awful showing at the brand supremacy event. A show that kicked off with a “town hall” meeting immediately went downhill as the fake locker room leader lost the locker room just as quickly. Here are the highlights.

“Town Hall” Hosted By Seth Rollins Leads To A Stunner

Raw

Raw kicked off with the entire roster being around the ring and Seth Rollins is in the middle of the ring as it was time to address Raw’s failures at Survivor Series after being dominated by SmackDown and more specifically NXT. Rollins didn’t hold back, letting the roster know they failed and there is no excuse behind it. He called Randy Orton the weakest link and Charlotte Flair a failed leader. Soon, the entire locker room walked to the back while Kevin Owens stayed behind.

Owens got in the ring and Rollins began to go off on him, saying that KO will never be Seth Rollins. Before KO would even say a word, he would hit a Stunner on Rollins and walk out. This would lead to a match between the two later on. For those wondering, the Authors of Pain would come out and layout Owens, allowing Rollins to hit two stomps but no signs of them being together just yet.

Charlotte Flair & Asuka Have Another Great Match

The reason Charlotte Flair was eliminated from the women’s Survivor Series elimination match was because of Asuka, who spit the green mist to leave Charlotte in the position to lose. So there it was, the one-on-one rematch from WrestleMania 34 as Charlotte faced Asuka. Asuka has never been able to get the best of Charlotte in singles competition, and she made that perfectly clear to one-half of the women’s tag team champions. Kairi Sane had been chased off earlier in the match but came back to help her friend out. And she did enough to bother Charlotte and get the refs attention so Asuka could utilize the mist again and pin Charlotte. This match was incredibly stiff and physical, turning in one of the better matches on Raw this year and another good one for the second straight week.

Raw MVP: #AndNEW Rey Mysterio

Raw

One night after having an opportunity for the WWE Championship, Rey Mysterio earned another championship match by winning a fatal four-way match between him, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, and Ricochet. It was Orton’s match to win before The OC made sure he didn’t as they looked to set up an injured Mysterio for AJ Styles to retain his championship against. Instead, Randy Orton made his way back out between Mysterio vs Styles to help even the odds as he put down Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. With the referee still down, Orton slithered into the ring following the 619 by Mysterio to plant him with an RKO. Following that, the masked legend hit a frog splash to crown a new United States Champion.

A rather eventful night of Raw to finish the four-day trip in Chicago. This coming weekend will be the special event, Starrcade, which will be a live event most featuring SmackDown stars, so be sure to check back this week for the full preview.
