#AndNew: Adam Brooks Completes MCW World Championship Fairy Tale

Adam Brooks

Adam Brooks completed a career-long dream of becoming the Melbourne City Wrestling World Champion at the year ending End Game event.

The championship was decided in a triple threat elimination matchup, which also featured former champions Slex and Dowie James. During the matchup, the reigning champion Slex would be the first man eliminated before Brooks would go one to eliminate James later.

For Brooks, this moment represents the culmination of a career-long journey.

Beginning in 2010, under the tutelage of Buddy Murphy (then known as Matt Silva), Brooks quickly rose through the ranks of MCW. Along the way capturing the MCW Tag Team Championships three times and the MCW Intercommonwealth Championship four times. Throughout his career, though the MCW World Championship had always eluded him.

In order to finally claim the World Championship Brooks would pay homage to his trainer, and best friend, by utilising Murphy’s Law before hitting his Swanton Bomb.

By winning the MCW World Championship Adam Brooks becomes one of only five men to have completed the MCW Triple Crown of the World, Intercommonwealth and Tag Team Championships. Others on the list include; Slex, Dowie James, Jonah Rock (aka Bronson Reed) and Gino Gambino.
