Preview: PROGRESS – PROGRESS Chapter 97 (10/27/19)

Chapter 97

PROGRESS Wrestling is having itself a bit of a revival in late 2019.  The company has been pushing exciting new talent that has been waiting for far too long for their shot at the top and has reinvigorated its women’s division with Dani Luna taking center stage.  Chapter 97  is set to continue their streak of exciting shows as the war between OJMO and Do Not Resuscitate continues.

Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley vs Knucklockers (Darell Allen & Jordan Breaks)

Chapter 97

Pretty Deadly came away with the win over other up and coming tag team the Young Guns at Chapter 96.  This time around they face another new team as Darrell Allen and Jordan Breaks.  This will be an interesting matchup as Breaks offers something totally different to most wrestlers.  He’s something of a throwback to an ultra-technical style.  How this works in tag team action at this level remains to be seen but whatever happens, it’s great to see new blood in PROGRESS’ previously desolate tag division

Do Not Resuscitate (Danny Duggan & Chuck Mambo)vs The N.I.C (Oisin Delaney & Charlie Carter)

DNR has been a thorn in the side of OJMO ever since the NPS.  OJMO is smart and knows that he alone couldn’t take on four of the top wrestlers in the UK so he enlisted the help of some friends.  Destination: EVERYWHERE’s NIC are here in PROGRESS to back him up.  They will be looking to deliver a blow to DNR here and get a win.

Connor Mills vs Mark Andrews

Chapter 97

Andres makes his first appearance in PROGRESS since his shocking heel turn that helped Eddie Dennis win the PROGRESS title at Chapter 95.  He takes on Connor Mills who has been on something of a losing streak in PROGRESS but has always made sure to give a good account of himself.  Mills has agreed to join OJMO in his fight with DNR so don’t be surprised to see them get involved here.

Cara Noir vs Ilja Dragunov

A rematch from Chapter 96 where Ilja came out on the winning end of a battle between these two rather eclectic personalities.

Proteus Championship – Paul Robinson (C) vs Present William Eaver

Chapter 97

Robinson made defence number one of his Proteus championship at Chapter 96 when he defeated Travis Banks.  This time around he faces the last person to beat him Present William Eaver.

PROGRESS Women’s Champion – Meiko Satomura (C) vs Dani Luna

The rising star Dani Luna gets the biggest opportunity of her career here.  PROGRESS’ division was in need of a re-tooling and with a legend like Meiko Satomura as champion they have the opportunity to build up the division once again with great matches guaranteed by Satomura.  At the last show Luna beat the longest-reigning PROGRESS women’s champion Toni Storm and goes into this one with momentum.  No matter the result this one could see Luna walk out a star as she goes up against one of the world’s best.

David Starr and OJMO are also set to appear at Chapter 97.
