NWA Adds to Women’s Division, Broadcast Team

In the past 24 hours, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has revealed several new names who will be joining the NWA in Atlanta, Georgia the weekend of September 30 and October 1 for the first tapings of the NWA’s first proper studio wrestling show in several decades. The NWA already has NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, NWA Women’s World Champion Allysin Kay, NWA National Heavyweight Champion “Cowboy” James Storm, and NWA World Tag Team Champions Royce Isaacs & Thomas Latimer, as well as The Rock N’ Roll Express, Eli Drake, Colt Cabana, and Ricky Starks slated for the weekend. On commentary, it will be Joe Galli on lead with Jim Cornette on color. Galli has been the voice of Championship Wrestling From Hollywood (CWFH) for years and recently announced the NWA 70th Anniversary PPV.

Thunder Rosa, Ashley Vox and Marti Belle Join NWA Women’s Division

On Tuesday, NWA announced three additions to the women’s division, which so far had only had its champion announced. They announced three women have been stars on the US indies for years that are great additions to the roster for the upcoming tapings. Thunder Rosa is arguably the most known name of the three, after a breakout appearance on Lucha Underground as Kobra Moon, and as part of the US indie tag team dynamos Twisted Sisterz. She also portrays Serpentine with Women of Wrestling (WOW).

Ashley Vox is best known as being one half of the Sea Stars, alongside her sister Delmi Exo. Debuting in 2015, with Sea Stars they became indie darlings in CHIKARA starting in 2016. Since then, the duo has become a top tag team on the US indies with Beyond Wrestling, SHIMMER, RISE, and Ring of Honor. But Ashley has also established herself as a singles competitor as well and will be entering the NWA to prove her worth in singles action.

Marti Belle has been a veteran of the New York City indies since 2009, and burst onto the mainstream consciousness with IMPACT Wrestling from 2014 to 2016, as a member of the Dollhouse. She left IMPACT in early 2017 and appeared on the inaugural WWE Mae Young Classic. She continues to work regularly with SHIMMER, Shine, and many other US indies.

David Marquez & Kyle Davis Join as Broadcast Correspondents

While they won’t be joining Galli and Cornette in a four-man booth, they will be acting as broadcast correspondents, conducting interviews and other features on the broadcast. Joe Galli will feel right at home, as he’s joined by some CWFH family members. David Marquez is the owner and promoter for CWFH and acts as a correspondent with his own company (as well as many more) and has been a strong ally of the NWA since Billy Corgan rebooted the franchise. A smart mind for the business, Marquez is a great addition to the NWA team.

Kyle Davis is a former indie wrestler himself (known as Kyle Durden, competing in ROH in the mid-2000s) who transitioned into a backstage correspondent for Ring of Honor after his in-ring career ended in 2009.
