Card Subject To Change: Rumored Names Returning To WWE

Natalie Eva Marie Celebrity Big Brother

This is an ongoing new feature where our own “Hot Sauce Willie” starts to unveil the secrets in the shadows that he receives from his WWE sources. A lot of his internal reports have come true. A few don’t. But like they say, “Card subject to change.” This week we look at some names that could be on their way back to WWE.

A few weeks ago it was reported that Enzo and Cass were in talks with WWE about a return to the company. WWE shot the rumors down shortly after, which then resulted in another report with Cass saying he and the company were indeed in talks for a potential return and would be okay to return without Enzo. Fast forward one week ago, and an unfortunate incident occurred at a Wrestlpro show between Cass and several stars which resulted in Cass being detained by the police and ultimately sent to a hospital for help. Cass ultimately apologized for his actions and last we have heard is going to get help.

Regardless of the circumstances, we may very well still see the big man back. But, rumors have surfaced of other names also being on WWE’s radar for a return to the company and have been in talks with the company regarding what the plans could be. Those names include Wade Barrett, Eva Marie, Alberto Del Rio, and the one name that has been rumored for way too long, CM Punk.

Wade Barrett, the former leader of the infamous group, Nexus, left the company soon after WM 32, however, a lot has changed with the company since which include the booming popularity of NXT, and the conception of NXT UK. It’s rumored that Barrett could be brought back to help the NXT UK brand in some capacity. Currently, some of the brands more notable stars, Pete Dunne, who just wrestled on NXT this week, Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley, are rumored to have moved to Orlando to work on the NXT brand regularly.

Concerning the other names, Alberto Del Rio, is rumored to be brought back and used to help WWE with the Hispanic fan base. It’s also rumored that he could be used to help elevate younger Hispanic talent, similar to what Rey Mysterio has done with Andrade Cien Almas. Eva Marie has expressed interest in returning to the company and certainly has the look for WWE’s liking. Eva’s possible returning role is unclear right now, however, whether it be as an in-ring performer, or member of the broadcast team, Eva Marie could certainly be of great use to the company.

Lastly, the rumor with CM Punk is simply that shortly after his interview at Starrcast III after stating he would not be reaching out to anyone but would be willing to hear any offers, that Vince McMahon reached out to the former WWE Champion to discuss a potential return along with ideas of how the return could be laid out. With WWE soon debuting on broadcast television with FOX, could we finally see the return of one of the most popular performers of the last decade? Time will tell what the future holds for any of the aforementioned names discussed. (Of course, all of this IS subject to change)
