Card Subject To Change: Bray Wyatt & The Fiend

Bray Wyatt

This is the start of a new feature where our own “Hot Sauce Willie” starts to unveil the secrets in the shadows that he receives from his WWE sources. A lot of his internal reports have come true. A few don’t. But like they say, “Card subject to change.” This week we look at Bray Wyatt and the explosion of “The Fiend”.

Since the debut of the returning Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, the highly anticipated return has had what seems to be a domino effect on the booking of the King Of The Ring with several superstar bookings being effected. As we’ve seen over the years the King Of The Ring has usually been a pedestal for the next big star, and while that may be still happening, don’t look for that star to get a title run any time soon.

It’s been rumored that the Bray Wyatt character and the quick success from being the second-highest merchandise seller during SummerSlam weekend, only behind official WWE Summerslam Toronto merchandise, along with social media views of the Wyatt character, the company wants to strike off that success while “the fire is hot”. Look for Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Title in a very convincing fashion, and look for The Fiend to be the new face of Raw. The Fiend will also have a program with The Undertaker down the road as recent commentary and promos have hinted at a face-to-face.

With WWE moving to FOX soon, don’t be surprised if the promotion attempts to make an impact with a confrontation between The Undertaker and The Fiend. This would be right before the WWE Draft where we could see the last of Wyatt until any build-ups to the big 4-5 pay per views which usually. Bray is rumored to have a lengthy and healthy title run possibly run at the least, one calendar year or more.

As far as who was affected by the booking of the KOTR, it’s rumored that Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Chad Gable, and others were affected. Drew was rumored to have won the entire King Of The Ring but in an effort to protect the star, coupled with him dealing with a minor injury that he would have worked through, the promotion decided it best to protect him rather than go into an immediate program with The Fiend.

Ricochet was affected in that he was rumored to have a final match to the program with AJ Styles, that should have either taken place at MSG or this Sunday at Clash Of Champions. Because he was still being used, Cedric Alexander was quickly entered into a program with Styles and will be challenging for the U.S. Title soon.

As we’ve seen with Corbin and Gable, both are in the finals in a match that should be of pay per view quality but is now taking place on Monday Night Raw the night after Clash Of Champions. While it seems we may have Corbin win the KOTR tournament, and with Bray expected to win the title, would it be realistic to have a heel Corbin versus The Fiend? Expect Gable to come out with an “out of nowhere” victory and have a match with The Fiend down the line (Of course, all of this IS subject to change).
