Preview: ROH – Global Wars Espectacular Night 3 (9/8/19)

Global Wars Espectacular

The final night of the global wars tour stops in Milwaukee as RUSH and Jeff Cobb take on The Kingdom, Barbaro Cavernario teams with Dem Boyz to battle Lifeblood and we have a CMLL exhibition trios match.  Here’s our preview of all the action from Global Wars Espectacular Night 3.

Global Wars Espectacular Night 3 (9/8/19)

Flip Gordon vs. PJ Black vs Triton

This triple threat match comes with a couple of questions going into the match. Flip Gordon hurt his arm months ago after performing a 450 splash onto Tracy Williams on a table. Will Flip Gordon be at 100 percent on this night? Triton is the wild card here in that neither of his Flip or Black has faced him. Could Triton be the dark horse in the match? PJ Black coming in as the veteran does have the veterans advantage over both competitors. Will PJ Black be able to figure the match out fairly quickly and get the victory through his overall experience and skill? This match has the potential to deliver big-time but time will tell what Flips health status come this Sunday.

Jonathan Gresham & Jay Lethal vs Silas Young & Josh Woods

Photo: ROH

In what should be an interesting match up, we have Josh “The Goods” Woods and his mentor, Silas Young against what is becoming the dysfunctional team of Jonathan Gresham and Jay Letha. Gresham has continued his dishonorable ways, which began with a match against Silas Young in a “Pure Rules Match”. It was then when Gresham got the win by cheating. Soon after, Gresham began to win matches again via dishonorable ways. Lethal tries to make sense of it and has been trying to get Gresham back to his ways, however, Gresham sees no success in how he used to win any longer. It’ll be interesting to see how the tag team work this Sunday.

On the flip side, Josh Woods is learning how to win matches by any means necessary like Young usually does. While an excellent performer, Silas Young has had a track record of doing things against the Ring Of Honor way. With a young star like Josh Woods, capable of mat wrestling with the best of them, and learning how to win through Silas Youngs teachings, will the tag team get another win this Sunday against the troubled team of Gresham and Lethal? Or will Grehsam find a way to win the match similar to his recent wins for the tag team? Or will Lethal have something to say about all the shenanigans having been pulled by Gresham?

The Allure (Angelina Love & Mandy Leon) vs. Kelly Klein & Stacy Shadows

Ever since the Allure made their debut in Madison Square Garden at the G1 Supercard Of Honor, they’ve been running rampant in the division and Kelly Klein has been their primary target since their debut. This Saturday, Kelly Klein has some back up in the 10-year veteran, Stacy Shadows, who mainly wrestles in the state of Wisconsin which also happens to be her home state. The Allures Angelina Love has been chasing for a title match against Kelly Klein and will do anything to get it. The last time Love and Kelly were involved in a tag match against each other, Kelly Klein teamed with Jenny Rose while Love teamed with Mandy Leon at ROH Best In The World. The Allure took the win at that time and are looking to continue their winning ways this time around. Will Love be able to get a pinfall victory over Klein to finally cement that number one contender’s match?, How will Velvet Sky play a role if she happens to be in the building on this night? Or will the team of Klein and Shadows overcome the odds and get the win over the Allure at the Global Wars Espectacular?

Caristico, Stuka Jr & Volador Jr. vs. Okumura, Hechicero & Rey Bucanero

Photo: ROH

This should be another spectacular match which should see ample high flying for the ROH audience. All the men involved can be seen regularly on CMLL television every week, and when they perform, they deliver. The last time we had a 6 man tag team which involved all CMLL talent, we saw one of the more exciting matches of that evening and would have easily been the match of the night. Could we see another potential match of the night on the last night of the Global Wars tour from all the participants in this match? Stay tuned, to this Saturdays night two of ROH Global Wars Espectacular, available for Honorclub members. Tune to ROHWrestling.com for start times and further details.

The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas) vs. Villain Enterprises (PCO & Brody King)

What happens when you have 1,175 pounds in one ring? of that mass, you have a monster, a killer, and two bouncers? You have complete mayhem of a match. The Bouncers take on Villain Enterprises members PCO and Brody King. Milwaukee just happens to be the home town of the Beer City Bruiser giving The Bouncers the home town advantage. Will that be enough for the Bouncers, however? Will they be able to defeat a team that’s been virtually unstoppable since their arrival? Or will PCO and Brody King be able to go right through The Bouncers despite the expected reception for the beer drinkers?

 Marty Scurll vs. Joe Hendry

The Villain. The Prestigious One. Two very entertaining characters and great in-ring performers go one on one for the first time in ROH. The Villains reputation precedes him as one of the most sinister characters in ROH history. A former Bullet Club member and leader of Villain Enterprises, Marty Scurll comes to Milwaukee with one purpose. To do whatever he can to make Hendry suffer. Hendry, coming off of a championship match with Shane Taylor, could come in as the number one contender for the television title. Could we see a successful weekend for Joe Hendry capping off the Global Wars tour with a win over Marty Scurll? Or will Scurll continue his winning ways and win his match by villainous ways?

The Briscoes and Barbaro Cavernario vs. Life Blood

Golbal Wars Espectacular

In what will be a trios dream match, the greatest tag team in ROH and current ROH Tag team champs in The Briscoes team with the caveman of CMLL as the team face off Life Blood. This athletic contest could be the match of the night as the Briscoes reputation precedes them and the ROH audience are well aware of what they can do in the ring. Same for the team of Haskins, Bandido and “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams. Add Barbaro Cavernario to the mix and there is a different ball game due to the members of Life Blood not knowing what Cavernario will bring to the table.

However, this could certainly be a window of opportunity for Life Blood as they could see a number one tag team opportunity against the Briscoes if any member of Life Blood can get a pin over the very dominant tag team. Will the team of the Briscoes and Cavernario be able to click and mesh well with each other and be able to defeat Life Blood, or will Life Blood be able to find that opportunity and defeat one of the Briscoe brothers. Or can a new window of opportunity be found for a member of Life Blood if a member gets a pin over Barbaro Cavernario? Cavernario is the current Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship in CMLL. A pin over Cavernario could put a member of Life Blood in contention for the title.

Matt Taven & Vincent vs. RUSH & Jeff Cobb

Photo: ROH

One night after his championship match with Volador Jr. Matt Taven is in action teaming with his Kingdom partner Vincent against the unlikely duo of RUSH and Jeff Cobb. A couple of stars that have never teamed before. RUSH, the man responsible for Matt Tavens locks of hair being cut off a year ago, has made his way into ROH in 2019 and has made a monstrous mark in the company with an undefeated streak. Recently, RUSH made the challenge to Matt Taven for the ROH World Title, but will Matt have the title by night three of the tour? Will RUSH has a possible new opponent for the world title in Volador Jr? Or would Matt Taven successfully have defended the title on night two and continue his feud with RUSH for the title?
