One of the first special shows announced for this jam-packed SummerSlam weekend was The Summit. Many of the stars featured here crossover through most if not all of the promotions involved.

Alexia Nicole & Meave O’Farrell vs. Jody Threat & Mary Lee Rose

The first match slated for The Summit will put some of Canada’s finest stars on display. Alexia Nicole has been busy, capturing the hearts and eyes of many fans across Canada and the Northeast. She’s recently debuted for Beyond and IMPACT Wrestling. Meave O’Farrell is a Quebec native and recently participated in a WWE tryout in Canada. The Phoenix is one-half of the NSPW Tag Team Champions and is the first-ever FCL Women’s Champion. Jody Threat has recently returned from a brief tour in the United Kingdom, appearing for Fight Club: PRO and PROGRESS Wrestling. Her partner is another Quebec native in Mary Lee Rose. Rose mainly concentrates her work in her home province but has made appearances in other places for companies like SHIMMER and Atomic Championship Wrestling.

Veda Scott vs. Ashley Vox

Veda Scott is one of the hardest working women in wrestling. The proudly independent wrestler has been a fixture on the scene for nearly a decade. This will be one of her final appearances in North America at The Summit, at least for a little while. She’ll be jetting off again for another tour abroad, this time in the UK. Ashley Vox, one half of the Sea Stars, has been ramping up her presence in North America as well. Vox has been casting her net in places like Beyond, Bar Wrestling, Alternative Wrestling Show, and more. Surprisingly, these two have only crossed paths twice before, one for Beyond Wrestling and the other for Queens of Combat.

Dust vs. Delmi Exo

The other half of the Sea Stars is also in action, Delmi Exo will be taking on Dust from Paradise Lost. Dust is sure to still be sore after failing to regain the Guardians of RISE Championships (as another shard of the multiverse) and will mostly likely look to take out her frustration on Delmi. Delmi and Ashley were involved in that match as well. Rosemary also could be on the outside, depending on which shard of Rosemary shows up. These two have only crossed paths the one time and it was a tag team match. That makes this a first-time ever encounter and it should be plenty of fun.

Delilah Doom vs. Shotzi Blackheart

The rivalry between these two old friends goes back several years. First, they fought over the Phoenix of RISE Championship. Delilah Doom succeeded in unseating Shotzi Blackheart for that title at RISE 5: Rising Sun. They then formed the team of Balls of Doom and chased the Guardians of RISE Championships together, fighting against the strong force of Paradise Lost. The two fought very hard to keep the darkness of Paradise Lost from consuming RISE. However in that fight, the Shadow took hold of Delilah. She betrayed Shotzi at the end of RISE 10: Insanity. This led to their clash at RISE 13: Legendary, which ended in disqualification after Doom introduced a chair into the mix. Now Shotzi will have another opportunity at revenge on her former friend.

Priscilla Kelly vs. LuFisto vs. Cheerleader Melissa vs. Allysin Kay

This huge match for The Summit is a great representation of the past, present, and future of women’s wrestling. LuFisto and Cheerleader Melissa are two of the biggest names, having been in wrestling for over twenty years each. Allysin Kay has been around for ten and is the current Shine and NWA World Women’s Champions. Priscilla Kelly is the youngest, with just a handful of years of experience. Kelly isn’t afraid to push the envelope when it comes to head games either. All of these women are proficient strikers, while the overall power game favors LuFisto and Melissa. Allysin has a distinct height advantage and Priscilla also has the recklessness of youth. It’s sure to be a wonderful treat to behold on August 10th.

Phoenix of RISE Championship Match
Zoe Lucas (c) vs. Aerial Monroe

In the first of four title matches at The Summit, Zoe Lucas will defend her Phoenix of RISE Championship against Big Swole, Aerial Monroe. Zoe is also the current RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion. She won the title from her former friend Kylie Rae in a surprise match at RISE 13: Legendary, after Kylie had won it from Mercedes Martinez. Zoe defended it against Aerial at RISE 14: Luminous which saw her defeat the former Mae Young Classic competitor. Now Aerial will have a second chance at glory and unseating the young champion. She’s been a busy gal since that tournament brought her to increased prominence. In addition to Shine Wrestling, Aerial has competed for SHIMMER, Generation Championship Wrestling, Reality of Wrestling, and FEST Wrestling. Zoe may have the youth and champion’s advantage, but Big Swole is deceptively strong and agile.

NCW Femmes Fatales Championship Match
Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Jordynne Grace

This match will be for the NCW Femmes Fatales Championship which Mercedes Martinez currently holds. Her opponent is the current PROGRESS Women’s Champion and IMPACT Wrestling Knockout, Jordynne Grace. Both of these women are standard bearers in today’s wrestling scene. Each don’t mind tangling with the boys when needed and show that women’s wrestling is no less than men’s. Jordynne and Mercedes both are strong in the power department, while Mercedes edges the younger Grace in experience and height. Jordynne has been all over the world recently, completing tours in Australia, the United Kingdom and all over North America. Martinez is equally as traveled, competing in the same countries for different promotions. They have also faced off twice before, with Mercedes getting the win each time.

Smash Wrestling Women’s Championship Match
KC Spinelli vs. Rosemary

https://twitter.com/RISEdtwa/status/1159134945077604353?s=20

Another storied rivalry will come to The Summit to make some history and settle some scores. KC Spinelli is VERY familiar with the wrath shard of Rosemary, Courtney Rush. The two were even tag team partners, as part of The Danger Zone. That all changed though when Rosemary battled KC and left her laying in Smash back in 2017. This was Spinelli’s first encounter with the actual Rosemary shard, which will be her foe several more times. Both Spinelli and the Rush shard were instrumental in Smash Wrestling history, which makes it more than perfect of them to be facing off to decide the first-ever Smash Women’s Champion. While The Demon may have declared that the Rush shard would be coming home to Canada, you never know which shard is showing up until they appear.

SHIMMER Championship Match
Nicole Savoy (c) vs. Nicole Matthews

It’s a battle of Nicoles for the SHIMMER Championship! Reigning champion, Nicole Savoy will be making her 16th defense of the title. This is the most number of defenses by any champion in one reign. Savoy’s prolific 600+ day reign has seen a bevy of various challengers including Jungle Kyona, Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee, Cheerleader Melissa, LuFisto and many others. Her opponent here, Nicole Matthews, is also a former SHIMMER Champion, having held the title back in 2014-2015. Matthews is also the current ECCW Women’s Champion which she has defended against Savoy successfully twice. Savoy has only defeated Matthews once in their three match history, back in February for C4. These women are very evenly matched, but with Nicole Matthews having the advantage of besting Savoy 2-1, it’s given her an edge the champion might not be able to overcome.

All of these incredible matches make up the landmark event The Summit. If you aren’t in the Toronto area, it will be available for video on demand purchase here sometime after the event.
