AEW Announces First Two Matches For TNT Debut

AEW

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is getting prepared for their TNT debut in a big way as they have announced the first two matches that will take place on the historic first 2-hour episode.

First up was the match announced yesterday, as it looks to be the first-ever AEW TV match in history. It will be Cody taking on Sammy Guevara in singles action to kick off this new age of wrestling. Fans were probably expecting a bigger match to be announced but this allows a familiar face in Cody to take on some new blood in Guevara, who has impressed in his two bouts as a member of AEW. Will Sammy Guevara be able to pull the upset on Cody and move himself up in the All Elite world?

The second was announced at noon, as Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks will take on Chris Jericho and two mystery partners of his choosing. Having the original Elite more than likely main event the show in a match against Chris Jericho and whomever he chooses is brilliant on the end of The Elite and should be a can’t miss match for their debut. The only question now is who will Chris Jericho choose as his partners? Jericho says that fans won’t believe who he will be bringing in to help him take down The Elite.

A smart move by AEW to set up yet another mystery partner situation as this will have people talking and guessing who would even dare to team with Chris Jericho, considering he has put himself on the bad side of almost everyone in All Elite Wrestling.

Besides these two bouts being announced, the only other segment said to be happening on the show is that Jon Moxley will appear live in Washington DC that night. Who knows what Mox could be up to come October.

AEW is beginning to load up this first show on October 2nd as they should be, which allows the excitement for fans to only get greater.
