The Next Chapter Begins: Gabriel Kidd To Train At New Japan’s LA Dojo

At this past Friday’s Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) show in Manchester, titled Ungovernable, Gabriel Kidd was victorious in the opening six man tag team match alongside Kenneth Halfpenny and Shaun Jackson, where they defeated the team of Brendan White, Clark Connors, and Karl Fredericks. Following the match, Kidd told the audience that he wanted to become a stronger wrestler. For him to accomplish that, there was only one man in the building that evening who was able to help him – Katsuyori Shibata. This would then lead to Shibata offering to take Kidd under his wing at New Japan‘s dojo in Los Angeles, California.

At just 22 years old, Kidd is already making a huge name for himself, having wrestled all over the world in the likes of Canada, Germany, and Scotland. He rose up the ranks of British wrestling thanks to his three year stint in Defiant Wrestling (formerly WhatCulture Pro Wrestling (WCPW)), a promotion that he called home until the start of June when he finished up his time there after a loss to Joe Hendry. Due to the size of Defiant as a promotion as well as the initial links it had to WhatCulture, more eyes than ever before were drawn towards Gabe, resulting in some huge matches there against top names such as Zack Sabre Jr., Cody Rhodes, and Johnny Mundo.

In addition to his time spent with Defiant, The Young Bull has also ventured out to some of the biggest promotions in the UK – Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), PROGRESS Wrestling, Fight Club: PRO (FCP), you name it. He also featured on five out of the ten episodes of last summer’s revamped World of Sport Wrestling (WOS) series, which aired for ten weeks in the UK with international air dates following soon thereafter.

There are now more eyes than ever looking at Gabriel Kidd. Without question, he’s going to take full advantage of this opportunity being presented to him by Shibata, and become an even better wrestler than he already is.
