Since returning from a devastating shoulder injury, De Lander has been riding a gigantic wave of success. Notably, De Lander has had successful returns to Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA), Newcastle Pro Wrestling (Newy Pro) and has also debuted for Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) alongside her friend Indi Hartwell. Most significantly though Steph De Lander recently participated in an NXT UK tryout. So she came into this match brimming with confidence, which certainly showed.

Conversely, Tarlee was coming into this match having held the title for 162 days. During her reign, Tarlee had overcome Arya Reign, Brandy Alexander, and even Indi Hartwell.
