The basis of every professional wrestling promotion is their world championship. Until now AEW has been very quiet about their plans to crown a world champion. That was until the latest edition of The Road To Double Or Nothing where comedian Jack Whitehall announced how a performer can get their hands on the AEW World Championship.
As we already knew the winner of the Casino Battle Royale will be one of the contenders for the championship. The other contender will be decided in the main event between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. The animosity is already at a fever pitch between the two talented performers but now there are added stakes.
No date was given for when the company will crown their first champion but speculation is that it could be All In 2. This also puts an increased emphasis on The Buy-In show, which airs for free, and the Casino Battle Royale. Regardless, we now know the plan for the AEW World Championship and how it can be won,
