Report: Hangman Page vs PAC At Double or Nothing Is Off

Page vs PAC

Earlier today Hangman Page appeared at Wrestle Gate Pro to confront PAC and challenge him to match.  At the time this was considered a part of the build to PAC vs Page but new reports from Dave Meltzer indicate that the match is off.

After the two had a match that ended in DQ at Wrestle Gate, PAC cut a promo claiming he wasn’t going to be at All Elite Wrestling (AEW)‘s Double Or Nothing.  At the time this was seen as an in-character move from “The Bastard”, but now it appears that the match has actually been called off due to creative differences.

For those keeping track, PAC has not been pinned or submitted since leaving the WWE and has been Open The Dream Gate Champion in Dragon Gate for 166 days.  PAC’s first defeat is likely to come in Dragon Gate to put over their talent, which has led to the creative differences between he and AEW, according to Meltzer’s report.

“The official word from AEW is that there were creative differences regarding the match and PAC won’t be on Saturday’s show,” Meltzer stated. “With PAC’s regular matches in the U.K., it’s known that because he takes his status as world champion with Dragon Gate seriously, he has not agreed to any losses since winning the Open the Dream Gate title and to protect that has done 30:00 draws with Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay. On the flip side, AEW wants to present a sports-like atmosphere and had their own direction for what they wanted.”

During AEW’s launch, Hangman Page was confronted by PAC.  At the time PAC spoke down to Page questioning his credentials for being champion and flaunting his title claiming that Hangman couldn’t even lace PAC’s boots.  At AEW’s Double Or Nothing pool party, PAC again verbally ran down Page and laid down the challenge for Double Or Nothing.  Page has been on a quest ever since to get in better shape to match PAC’s physique as part of a running gag on Being The Elite.
