Preview: PWA Black Label Presents – Once Upon A Time In Max Watts (5/10/19)

After sellout show last time out Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) Black Label returns to Maxx Watts this Friday. For Once Upon A Time In Max Watts PWA is bringing the heat again by adding two of the UK’s hottest female talents, Millie McKenzie and Session Moth Martina.

Alongside these two international names, PWA has also put together an extremely stacked card of matches featuring homegrown talent and some special interstate guests.

Outside the ring, the hotly contested political race for PWA Sanitation Commissioner will come to head. Fans will finally be given the opportunity to cast their votes for either Big Fudge and ‘Tree Hugger’ Luchi during the show this Friday.

For fans unable to attend Max Watts this Friday PWA will also be live streaming the event via OVOPlay at www.play.ovo.com.au/channel/6940.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though and break down the card leading into the event.

Adam Hoffman vs. Mat Rogers

After competing in yet another fatal four-way match at the last show Adam Hoffman’s anger finally bubbled over. Hoffman’s biggest complaint over recent months is that he has been cast aside and not been given any singles match opportunities. Unfortunately for him though, one of PWA’s scariest men ‘Full Force’ Mat Rogers, heard these complaints, pointing out that perhaps if Hoffman won a match he’d receive some singles opportunities.

Upon witnessing the interaction between Hoffman and Rogers PWA management have seen fit to give Hoffman his chance to shine in a singles match, against Rogers. Will Hoffman come to regret his choices?

SMS (Tyler Payne & Ricky South) vs. BSCG (Concrete Davidson & Jax Jordon)

With a successful debut at the last show, the Black Shirt Cool Group (BSCG) have now begun teasing a new third member. When or where the reveal of this new member occurs is just as unpredictable as the BSCG’s themselves. However, one would have to suspect the most likely scenario would be during the match BSCG and SMS.

Last show also saw SMS expanding by adding Ricky South, who was forced to join after once again losing to Unsocial Jordan. For the match, this weekend South will be teaming with new stablemate Tyler Payne with the duo obviously looking to stamp their authority on the PWA tag team division.

Session Moth Martina & Carter Deams vs. Xena & Michael Spencer

When Session Moth Martina was first announced for Once Upon A Time In Max Watts the PWA faithful obviously jumped to the BABES as a perfect faction for the blonde, party animal to join forces with. The prayers have been answered as Martina will be joining the BABES for one night only as she pairs up with Carter Deams for tag team action.

Standing across the ring will be another new pairing as Xena teams with Michael Spencer for the first time.

Will the straight-laced professional pairing of Xena and Spencer be able to overcome the wacky and wild antics of the BABES or will the party roll o through Max Watts unabated?

Robbie Eagles vs. ??

Mere hours before he jets off to Japan to be Australia’s first-ever representative in the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) Best Of The Super Juniors (BOSJ) tournament, Robbie Eagles has issued an open challenge to any wrestler under 100 kilograms. Eagles has been working tirelessly ever since toppling Will Ospreay at PWA Call To Arms in 2018 to prove that he is the best junior heavyweight in Australia and this challenge looks to continue that.

Who will answer the call and stand before the gun sights of Bullet Club’s Sniper Of The Skies?

PWA Tag Team Championship: 4 Nations (Jack J. Bonza & Mick Moretti) (c) vs. TMDK (Slex & ??)

For the first time ever two of Australia’s biggest faction are set to go head to head when the 4 Nations battle TMDK for the PWA Tag Team Championships.

Much to the ire of TMDK the reigning PWA tag team champions have been somewhat distracted by singles opportunities as part of the PWA Colosseum tournament. The failure of the champions to defend their titles ultimately led to TMDK throwing down the demand that they put the belts on the line this Friday against TMDK members Slex and Mikey Broderick. Never ones to back down from a challenge 4 Nations were quick to accept the challenge.

In recent days though this match has had to be altered due to a freak training injury which caused Broderick to break his hand. Whilst the match will still go ahead Slex’s partner is unknown as of writing, which other TMDK could they bring in to fill the void?

Jessica Troy vs. Millie McKenzie

As she continues on her quest to recapture the PWWA Championship, currently held by Shazza McKenzie, Jessica Troy is looking to make a huge statement this week. Troy hopes to do this by toppling the “younger and more talented McKenzie” on the way to PWWA Championship gold.

Whilst we’re yet to hear anything from Millie McKenzie in response to Troy’s challenge Millie has undoubtedly heard what Troy had to say and will likely have a little something of her own to say about the outcome before all is said and done.

Caveman Ugg vs. Davis Storm

After overcoming the brash young Matty Wahlberg at the last show Caveman Ugg is now set to face a stiff challenge from a legend in Australian wrestling. That challenge comes in the form of ‘The Godfather Of Australian Wrestling’ Davis Storm from Explosive Pro Wrestling (EPW) in Perth.

Before arriving in Sydney Storm specifically requested that he make his PWA debut against the biggest and baddest that PWA had to offer. Storm has made a name for himself throughout the years as a man who never goes down easily, in the past his chest has been brutalized with chops from Minoru Suzuki for example. As such the champion Ugg will have his work cut out for him if he wishes to stop Storm from earning a championship match of his choosing in the future.
