#WrestleManiaWeek Preview: Wrestling Revolver: Pancakes & Piledrivers 3 (4/6/19)

Much like Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) has made Joey Janela’s Spring Break an annual tradition over WrestleMania Week, Iowa’s Wrestling Revolver has their own annual event that is one of the must-see cards of the week, with the Saturday morning Pancakes & Piledrivers series. This year’s edition happens on Saturday once again, at 11am at the Hilton Midtown Ballroom, in association with Highspots Wrestling Network.

Six of the biggest and toughest men in the US indies face off in a 6-pack challenge “Hoss fight”! Jacob Fatu, the son of Samu and cousin of WWE’s Usos, is a savage in the ring and is currently leaving bodies on the floor as part of CONTRA in Major League Wrestling (MLW) and as part of Warbeast on the West Coast, where he’s the PCW ULTRA and DEFY Tag Team Champion with Josef SamaelDan Maff is a 20-year veteran who’s a 2x Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion and longtime member of Da Hit Squad with Monsta MackAce Romero is an immovable object in the ring and also a member of the MLW roster, while Larry D is a 17-year vet of the Ohio indies, as well as IWA Mid SouthMadman Fulton, formerly Sawyer Fulton in NXT, is the latest member of oVe in IMPACT Wrestling, while fellow IMPACT roster member Fallah Bahh brings more girth to the battle.

Chuck Mambo vs. Rich Swann

Chuck Mambo was the winner of a Twitter fan vote to determine who would get to face Swann instead of PAC, who sadly had to pull out over visa issues. Mambo is someone that is finally set to break out in 2019 after a successful 2018, which saw him enter Super Strong Style 16 and bring the fight to eventual winner Zack Sabre Jr. and also become the first ever Riptide Brighton Champion.  Mambo was always known as a fun-loving surfer dude with a fun entrance that UK fans enjoyed but he’s recently started shedding that image for someone that is sick of being overlooked which has led to him joining heel factions in Breed Pro Wrestling, PROGRESS, and ATTACK! Pro WrestlingRich Swann has rebounded incredibly since departing the WWE in early 2018, becoming a top star with MLW and IMPACT Wrestling, where he’s the reigning IMPACT X-Division Champion.

AR Fox vs. JT Dunn vs. Ace Austin vs. Sammy Guevara

A fatal four-way match, featuring four names familiar to fans of the US indies. AR Fox is a former EVOLVE Champion who gained national exposure as Dante Fox in Lucha Underground and is one of the most complete packages out there. JT Dunn has been working the US indie circuit since 2009 and is a regular with Chaotic Wrestling, Beyond Wrestling, and many more. The Ring Magician Ace Austin is another Ohio prodigy who has become a recent signee with both MLW and IMPACT Wrestling, while Sammy Guevara is a former AAA World Cruiserweight Champion who recently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Adam Brooks vs. Matt Cross

Australia’s Adam Books is one of the top stars of the emerging Aussie indie scene, who made his US debut in 2017 with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). A gifted and athletic competitor, Brooks is a 4x Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) Intercommonwealth Champion who has excelled in the UK and Australia, and entered his first PWG Battle of Los Angeles last year. He’s facing a 20 year veteran of the US indies in Matt Cross, who has competed for just about everyone and everywhere, working indies in North America, Europe and Japan, including Lucha Underground, Smash Wrestling, Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) and many more.

Rickey Shane Page vs. Tessa Blanchard

Former IMPACT Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard is no stranger to intergender matchups – she had an absolute classic against Brian Cage last year with WrestleCircus – but on Saturday she’ll be facing a former CZW World Heavyweight Champion and deathmatch specialist in Rickey Shane Page. Tessa will have to use every arsenal in her wheelhouse to take down RSP, but it’ll be a war none the less.

Moose vs. David Starr vs. Brian Cage

Speaking of Brian Cage, he’s entering a triple threat against another IMPACT star in “Mr. IMPACT” Moose and recently crowned IPW World Heavyweight Champion David Starr. Starr has a size disadvantage against the likes of Cage and Moose, but he’s been in hardcore matches before and regularly competes in Germany’s rough Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) where he’s battled the likes of WALTER and Timothy Thatcher.

Wrestling Revolver Tag Team Championship, Gauntlet Match: The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) (c) vs. Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) vs. LAX (Santana & Ortiz) vs. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) vs. The Besties In The World (Davey Vega & Matt Fitchett) vs. Team Tremendous (Dan Barry & Bill Carr)

The Wrestling Revolver tag team titles are on the line in a gauntlet match, as champions Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz of the Rascalz put their gold on the line against five very capable tag teams. Team TremendousDan Barry & Bill Carr have wrestled around the US and UK for the past few years and are ready for a big win. Aussie Open have dominated the UK indie scene the past few years, as 2x Defiant Tag Team Champions, 2x (and reigning) ATTACK! Tag Team Champions, plus reigns with PROGRESS, HOPE and wXw, where they also currently hold the gold. The Besties In The World are arguably the most underrated tag team in the US (and maybe the world), holding tag titles right now in the US (Glory Pro) and the UK (Fight Club: PRO), as well as former champs in All American Wrestling (AAW) and 2x Wrestling Revolver champions. The last two teams have been warring in IMPACT for the past six months, and both The Lucha Brothers and LAX would love to add even more gold to their overflowing trophy cases.

OvE (Sami Callihan, Dave & Jake Crist) vs. The Unwanted (Shane Strickland, Joe Gacy & Eddie Kingston)

Photo: Wrestling Revolver

IMPACT Wrestling’s top faction, oVe, unites as a trio as Sami Callihan, Dave Crist and Jake Crist go head to head with EVOLVE’s top stable, The Unwanted, led by Shane Strickland, along with Eddie Kingston and Joe Gacy, the current EVOLVE Tag Team Champions. This match is being billed as Strickland’s last indie match before he heads to new pastures, so expect something special from “Swerve” as he says goodbye to a locker room of friends and family.
