Preview: PROGRESS Chapter 87 Breadknife (3/31/19)

Tag team wrestling takes centre stage as CCK take on LAX in round 3 of their feud, Aussie Open also face the Swords Of Essex for the third time but this time in a TLC match.  Super Strong Style 16 get’s two new participants and the women’s title match may get a changeup.  Action packed show from PROGRESS.

SSS16 Qualifier-David Starr vs Connor Mills

PROGRESS Wrestling

Young Connor Mills gets a big opportunity here against the world traveled performer David Starr.  Mills has accomplished some remarkable things in his short career including an appearance at PROGRESS Wembley as part of the Tag Team Thunderbastard match.  He faces stiff opposition as David Starr has currently been on fine form in the likes of OTT and wXw and will be looking to continue his breakout year by competing in the UK’s biggest tournament Super Strong Style 16.

SSS16 Qualifier- Lucky Kid vs Tristan Archer

PROGRESS Wrestling

Two European talents go head to head for a spot in SSS16.  Both men will go into this one knowing what a good run in SSS16 can do for your career as they look to establish themselves in the UK indie scene.  Lucky Kid comes in as the favorite after his big 16 Carat Gold win recently.  Kid has become a big star in Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) promotion and will look to follow in the footsteps of WALTER and Ilja Dragunov and become a big star all across Europe. He faces an opponent that will be desperate to prove himself, Archer comes from the French Wrestling Scene and has spent his career wrestling all over Central Europe.  This is his big chance to finally step up and make a name for both himself and the growing French Wrestling scene.

Kasey Owens vs Nina Samuels

Kasey Owens made her PROGRESS debut at the previous show where she pinned Samuels to get the win.  Samuels is meant to be a part of a fatal 4 way match at SSS16 for the women’s championship but Owens doesn’t believe she deserves it.  And who’s to argue with her after she pinned Samuels in her debut, well Samuels is looking to prove that she deserves her spot in the match and has put it on the line in this match. Owens could make a big statement with a win here and continue the momentum she earned during her debut.

Angelico vs TK Cooper W/NIWA

TK Cooper has a new lease on life as part of the reformed South Pacific Power Trip as he and Travis Banks are trying to reclaim the glory the faction once had, now with NIWA instead of Dahlia Black.  One of the SPPT’s first victims was Angelico who is not happy with being beaten by Cooper.  The former Lucha Underground and AAA high flier will rave his way into the ballroom as he tries to take down a remotivated Cooper.

PROGRESS Tag Team Championship TLC Match- Swords Of Essex (Paul Robinson & Will Ospreay) (c) vs Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher)

These two teams settle their grudge in a TLC match.  Back at Unboxing 2, Will Ospreay made a surprise return to PROGRESS to reform the Swords Of Essex with Robinson as they defeated Aussie Open for the tag championships.  The Swords then defended the titles at Chapter 84 and once again got the better of the Aussies.  Aussie Open fought for too long to reach the top to accept this so they want the Swords one more time in a TLC match.  Aussie Open must put away the Swords Of Essex if they are to reclaim their spot as the best tag team in the UK.

CCK vs LAX (Santana & Ortiz)

Round 3 as the UK’s premiere tag team faces one of America’s best.  CCK and LAX tore the house down twice last year in a PROGRESS ring, currently at one win apiece, and are set to continue this epic rivalry here at Chapter 87.  With 18 tag title reigns between the two teams, it’s not hard to see why they’re two of the best in their regions.  This match doesn’t need much hype it’s CCK vs LAX as they go to war for a third time with bragging rights on the line!
