Shane Strickland Announces Departure From Indie Scene

On Friday night in Seattle at DEFY Wrestling‘s Dragon Spirit, Shane Strickland announced that it was his last appearance for the company he’s been a huge part of since 2017 and a former 2x DEFY World Champion. He made the announcement after losing to Darby Allin in a gruelling No DQ match. But the one thing he didn’t say was where his destination was – although the only two real options would be WWE/NXT or Ring of Honor/NJPW, as both All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and IMPACT Wrestling would allow him to still perform with the company.

Shane Strickland was previously linked to a move to the WWE for NXT late last year and was expected to be announced with the February class this year, that included Trevor Lee, ACH, and Karen Q, but a snag was seemingly hit with his Lucha Underground contract (where he performed as Killshot). With those now behind him, he is free to sign elsewhere, which he apparently has.
