Preview: Warrior Wrestling 3 (1/5/18)

Warrior Wrestling presents Warrior Wrestling 3 at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois Saturday, January 5th. BELL TIME 7:30. Wrestling in Chicago has never been healthier with the addition of this company. Warrior brought strong talent to the first two cards, and this one is no exception.

Andrew Everett vs Rich Swann

Two high flyers bring their aerial game to Chicago Heights when Andrew Everett and Rich Swann square off. The sky’s the limit for these two as anywhere in the building presents an opportunity to go skyward. Everett dropped a tough one to Dezmond Xavier on Major League Wrestling in Miami, and hopes to rebound against another man competing in MLW Rich Swann. You can expect Rich to get the dance party started when he arrives, but Andrew Everett will be all business when that bell rings hoping to pick up a W in the Windy City.

Jordynne Grace vs Kylie Rae

Kylie Rae enters this contest with a ton of momentum. Fresh off her win against GPA in an I Quit Match at Freelance Wrestling’s Too Legit To Quit in Chicago on December 14th, and is also the reigning and defending All American Wrestling (AAW) Women’s Champion a title Rae won in November over Kimber Lee. Don’t let the fuzzy boots fool you, Kylie kicks ass and looks to get another win in her hometown. Jordynne Grace is no slouch either. The 22 year old from St. Louis is arguably the strongest woman in the sport, and is coming off back to back wins against NXT UK’s Toni Storm in England, and wins over Ruby Raze and Katarina on IMPACT in November.

Moose vs Ethan Page

Moose is one of the most athletic big men I have ever seen. The former Ring of Honor and current IMPACT Wrestling star can do anything in the wrestling ring. Moose faces Ethan Page who brings his own athleticism to the contest. This matchup could steal the show.

Dragon Lee, Sam Adonis, and Super Crazy vs Daga, Ultimo Dragon, and Pat Monix

Don’t get a drink when this match comes on or you might miss the fireworks. Dragon Lee replaced Titan in the match, and what is unfortunate for Titan is fortunate for us. Dragon Lee brings his high flying style to a stacked six man tag.

Eddie Edwards vs Austin Aries

Two IMPACT Wrestling legends collide in the Windy City in what is sure to be a classic. These two are no strangers to one another. Aries beat Edwards in July to retain the IMPACT World Championship in Toronto and Aries joined forces with Edwards’ bitter enemy Moose prevailing in six man tag action. Will this be Edwards chance to gain a measure of revenge or will Austin Aries continue his winning ways against the grappler from Boston?

Tessa Blanchard vs Britt Baker

If Tessa Blanchard is booked on your card it’s a big deal. The twenty three year old third generation star is already one of the top women in the game, and is filling up her trophy case at a rapid clip. The IMPACT Knockouts and PCW ULTRA Women’s Champion takes on Britt Baker, who she defeated along with Chelsea Green and Madison Rayne at All In, also in Chicago. A win for Baker would be an incredible way to start 2019, and vault her right into the indie women’s title scene. Blanchard faced Jordynne Grace in Warrior Wrestling 2 in what could have been match of the night.

Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) vs Matt Sydal & A-Kid

Photo: Warrior Wrestling

Remember when I said that Moose vs Page could be match of the night? Ok, well it could also be this one. I’ve never seen a bad Lucha Brothers match and Matt Sydal delivers every time. A-Kid has seen the losses add up recently and has just the right partner to get a win, but it may not be against the right team. But the Spanish wunderkid is emerging as one of the world’s new breakout stars. Penta and Fenix are one of the best teams on planet Earth, and this match is just the beginning of a tremendous 2019 for the pair.

Warrior Wrestling Championship: Brian Cage (c) vs Bandido

Photo: Warrior Wrestling

This is Cage’s first defense of the Warrior Gold he won at Warrior Wrestling 2 in September defeating Rey Fenix and six others in a War of Attrition match. Cage and Bandido met for the IMPACT X Division Crown in Australia. Bandido recently signed with Ring of Honor and would like nothing more than to take the Warrior Chmpionship Belt to ROH with him. Brian Cage has had a terrific year end which saw him narrowly miss taking the NWA World’s Heavyweight Title from Nick Aldis.

You can watch Warrior Wrestling 3 live on Sunday, as it streams on the Highspots Wrestling Network!
