Christopher Daniels to Return to Puerto Rico: Will Face the CWA Champion

In the 1990s, a young Christopher Daniels blazed trough Puerto Rican television while touring with World Wrestling Council. Now, 24 years later, “CD” is returning to the island that saw him for the first time. The former Ring of Honor World Champion will face Justin Dynamite for the Championship Wrestling Association (CWA) Championship in Reyes del Hexagono.

The announcement came this morning, were CWA officials announced that the ROH star and one-third of SoCal Uncensored, will be part of the two-day tour on Three Kings Day – a Holyday celebrated by Hispanics.  Reyes del Hexagono is the first show of CWA, the number two company in the island. The first show will be in Puerto Rico’s Convention Center and CD will be main eventing such show.

Justin Dynamite became the face of CWA when he defeated Star Roger in the last CWA show, Christmas Showdown. The second generation youngster will have his biggest challenge yet when Daniels challenges for the CWA title. Dynamite is young, agile and has the looks, but hasn’t had that much of experience against big stars. Although he once beat WWE 205 Live Superstar Lio Rush, Christopher Daniels will surely bring new challenges for the young star. The former ROH World Champion will likely shape new experiences for Justin.

This is not the first time that Daniels has been brought in as a test for young champions. Back in 2008, WWC was experimenting with young WWC Universal Champion Noriega, and Daniels was brought to put the latter to the test. Eventually, Noriega proved to be a flop. In 2013, Daniels teamed up with Frankie Kazarian and now RAW Tag Team Champion Bobby Roode in WWL‘s Idols of Wrestling to take on Adam Pearce, James Storm, and WWE Superstar Samoa Joe. Daniels is a former WWC World Tag Team Champion alongside former WWE wrestler Kevin Quin and also wrestled in the late 1990s for IWA PR.
