#AndNEW: Kanji Wins Defiant Women’s Championship

On this past Sunday’s episode of Defiant Loaded, a new Women’s Champion was crowned as “The Asian Sensation” Kanji began her reign with the strap. She outlasted Lana Austin, Kay Lee Ray, Millie McKenzie, Little Miss Roxxy, and defending champion Bea Priestley in an Elimination Gauntlet Match to win the title.

Kanji had only debuted in Defiant Wrestling on the prior episode, besting fellow debutant Gemini in a fairly short match to cement her spot in the championship match. A relative newcomer to professional wrestling as a whole, Kanji has been making a name for herself in British wrestling as one to watch, lighting crowds up at Three Count Wrestling, Southside Wrestling Entertainment, and home promotion House of Pain Wrestling, amongst other promotions.

Her reign makes her the fifth person to hold the championship, following in the footsteps of Millie McKenzie, Kay Lee Ray, Nixon Newell (WWE’s Tegan Nox), and two-time champion Bea Priestley. While those four women are established names of the British wrestling circuit, Kanji is still building a reputation for herself. In the months that follow though, she’ll be spoken about in high regard as one of the UK’s premier women athletes.

Loaded can be watched on the official Defiant Wrestling YouTube channel every Sunday at 8pm GMT.
