Two of the top women from the UK indie scene made their Japanese debuts this weekend, debuting with Sendai Girls at their Sunday night Joshi Puroresu Big Show 2018 in Sendai, Japan. Ireland’s indie veteran Rhia O’Reilly and England’s wunderkid Millie McKenzie debuted as a tag team in a loss to Sendai veterans DASH Chisako and Hiroyo Matusumoto (who has been featured in the 2018 Mae Young Classic).

Rhia O’Reilly is a 10-year pro from Belfast, Northern Ireland who has been a part of Pro Wrestling EVE since 2010. A student of Lance Storm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, O’Reilly is a former 2x Pro Wrestling EVE Champion who has also worked for SHIMMER and Shine in the US as well as other UK promotions like IPW, PROGRESS and X Wrestling Alliance (XWA), where she is a former XWA British Heavyweight Champion. She missed most of 2017 with a serious injury, returning last December.

Millie McKenzie has been one of the fastest rising UK indie stars of the past year, despite being only 18 years old. A regular with PROGRESS, Fight Club: PRO, Defiant Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling EVE, the suplex machine has also wrestled for Revolution Pro (RevPro), Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) and Kamikazi Pro. She’s already a former Defiant Women’s Champion and has won Wrestling Revolver Tag Team gold alongside Pete Dunne in the Bruisermates. She’s also currently the Kamikazi Pro Tag Team Champion with Chief Deputy Dunne. McKenzie has also appeared at several tapings for WWE’s NXT UK brand.
