#AndNEW: Adam Brooks Wins MCW Intercommonwealth Championship

Adam Brooks is your new Melbourne City Wrestling Intercommonwealth Champion, in a fantastic match that took place at the Thornbury Theatre. On Friday, October 5th, at MCW New Horizons, just 24 hours before WWE Super Show Down, the Loose Ledge stole the IC title from its now former champion, Slex. With feet on the ropes and a hand on the tights, Brooksy was able to roll-up the Business for the one, two, three.

This is Adam Brooks’ fourth Intercommonwealth title reign, the most of any wrestler, and Dowie James has the second most IC title reigns, with two. But Slex’s single title reign, the second longest in MCW history, was longer than all Adam Brooks’ previous three reigns combined. Slex had been champion since February, where he defeated Robbie Eagles in a stellar ladder match for the belt at MCW Clash of the Titans. Since, he has successfully defended the championship against Davis Storm, Trent Seven, and Will Ospreay, amongst others. Slex, obviously livid at the manner in which he lost the belt, immediately issued a challenged, according to his title rematch clause in his contract, for MCW’s next event, MCW: Endgame, on Saturday November 17th. Considering the talent of these two, no doubt the rematch will live up to this one. Because the title won’t be defended until then, Brooks will pass Slex for combined days as MCW Intercommonwealth Champion. The other two title matches on the night, Gino Gambino defending the MCW Heavyweight Championship against the Sniper of the Skies, Robbie Eagles, and the Brat Pack defending the MCW Tag Team Championships against Helter Skelter, Men for Hire, and Fun Time Trouble in a four way tag team elimination match, both saw the current champions retain.
