#AndNEW: Titles Change Hands in PROGRESS at Hello Wembley!

Tonight in London, England, PROGRESS Wrestling ran it’s biggest show to date – and easily one of the biggest indie shows in UK history – with Hello Wembley, held at the SSE Arena inside Wembley. A stellar card that saw Jimmy Havoc vanquish his arch-rival Paul Robinson, Jinny retain her PROGRESS Women’s title against Toni Storm and Millie McKenzie, and Eddie Dennis finally defeat his longtime friend/foe Mark Andrews. But it also saw the crowning of new champions, as two of PROGRESS’ championships changed hands.

#AndNEW: Trent Seven Wins PROGRESS Atlas Championship

As well as being one of the main stars for NXT UK and the original NXT, Trent Seven is still one of the principal players in the UK indie scene, working with PROGRESS, Fight Club: PRO and many more. Tonight he defeated UK legend Doug Williams to win his first singles gold in PROGRESS. A 3x PROGRESS Tag Team Champion with British Strong Style (once with Pete Dunne and twice with Moustache Mountain partner Tyler Bate), Seven has only held singles gold elsewhere, but never in PROGRESS. He’s also a former Fight Club: PRO and ATTACK! 24/7 Champion, as well as an Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) World Champion.

#AndNEW: Aussie Open Wins PROGRESS Tag Team Titles

In the first ever Thunderbastard match for the tag team titles, the tandem of Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis – known together as Aussie Open – outlasted PROGRESS Champs Bandido & Flamita, The 198 (Flash Morgan Webster & ‘Wild Boar’ Mike Hitchman ), CCKampf (Chris Brookes & Timothy Thatcher), Sexy Starr (David Starr & Jack Sexsmith), Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson), Anti Fun Police ( Chief Deputy Dunne & Los Federales Santos Junior) and Connor Mills & Maverick Mayhew to capture their first PROGRESS tag team belts. It’s a cap on a stellar last year for the Australian duo who have become one of the top tag teams in the UK scene, capturing the ATTACK! and HOPE Tag Team titles, as well as two reigns as the Defiant Tag Team Champions (which they’re also still currently holding). Adding a fifth title to an impressive resume in the UK makes them the team to beat in the UK.
