The whirlwind resurgence of PCO in 2018 continued last night, when he defeated three men to become the new Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) Extreme Champion last night. In a fatal four way for the title, defeating champion Tony Deppen as well as “Spyder” Nate Webb and Gringo Loco. The wrestling world exploded upon seeing the finish, where PCO defeated all three men at once with a tombstone piledriver and double chokeslam at the same time.

PCO is a long time removed from being in the mainstream public eye, when he was a 3x WWF World Tag Team Champion with Jacques Rougeau in The Quebecers in the early 90s, and his WCW stint where he captured the WCW Hardcore title. Before he took a sabbatical in 2010, he’d also won the International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS) Heavyweight Championship in Montreal, as well as the IWA Puerto Rico Intercontinental Championship. He’d previously held two Canadian titles during his comeback, with the Great North Wrestling (GNW) Heavyweight title and Xtreme Zone Wrestling (XZW) Ironman Championship in his hometown of Montreal.
It’s fitting his first major indie title of his comeback would be with GCW, as they’ve been hugely influential in his return to prominence. It was his match against WALTER at this spring’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2, produced by GCW over WrestleMania week, that got PCO’s name in heavy circulation, leading to many huge matches over the past year. Apart from the multitude of major bookings he’s received since, he’s appeared since with GCW in Tournament of Survival 3 in June, and recently faced Matt Riddle in his final US indie appearance at Joey Janela’s Lost in New York the night before Riddle appeared in the crowd at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV.
