UK’s Preston City Wrestling Partners With Anthem For New Show This Saturday

As if the news of Revolution Pro UK (RevPro) finding a TV home with FreeSports, Defiant Wrestling bringing back the old WCPW flagship show Loaded to YouTube, World of Sport on ITV and NXT UK coming to the WWE Network wasn’t enough of the British wrestling scene on television, another promotion is joining the televised revolution. Preston City Wrestling (PCW) has announced they have partnered with Anthem Sports & Entertainment (the parent company of IMPACT Wrestling) to produce new content for a PCW branded program set to air on Anthem’s Fight Network UK, available on Sky Channel 455.

The new show featuring PCW stars mingling with international stars will air every Saturday night at 11pm BST, beginning this Saturday September 1. The debut show is set to feature matches including Zack Sabre Jr., Matt Riddle, WOS Champion Rampage Brown, PCW Women’s Champion Nightshade, Rhio, Sierra Loxton, and more.

Founded by Steven Fludder in 2011, Preston City Wrestling is based out the city of Preston, Lancashire, in the northwest of England (about an hour north of Liverpool). Since its inception, PCW has been one of the top promotions in the BritWres scene and a breeding ground for many UK and international stars who have taken the world by storm. Former 3x PCW Heavyweight Champion Tyson T-Bone was featured in both of the WWE’s United Kingdom Championship tournaments (and works WWE/NXT Live Events in the UK), and current WWE Superstars Apollo Crews (then Uhaa Nation) and Noam Dar are also both former PCW Heavyweight Champions from their independent days. Dar, alongside NXT’s Adam Cole and NXT UK star El Ligero are also former PCW Cruiserweight Champions, and Viper is a former PCW Women’s Champion.

3x PCW Heavyweight Champion Tyson T-Bone competed in both the 2017 and 2018 WWE UK Championship tournament.

While PCW hasn’t achieved the notoriety of the bigger UK promotions such as PROGRESS, RevPro, Glasgow’s Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) or IPW:UK, PCW has managed to create it’s own footprint in the UK scene that only gets stronger with each card.
