oVe vs. Bullet Club: Marty Scurll Answers Sami Callihan’s Open Challenge

Sami Callihan has emerged as the ultimate villain of 2018 in Impact Wrestling since his baseball bat incident with Eddie Edwards (and subsequent actions in the indie circuit) and early in June, he threw down a huge gauntlet when he called out Chris Jericho for not inviting Impact Wrestling – and specifically “The Draw” Sami Callihan himself – to appear on Jericho’s Rock N’ Rager Cruise. Jericho responded and ultimately invited the roster of Impact to get their sea legs, but it seems it wasn’t enough. Callihan continued to call out Jericho, after the Ring of Honor Sea of Honor tournament was announced and still no mention of any Impact talent. Callihan went so far as to challenge Bullet Club themselves. Well, it appears that Sami has finally gotten a response and it came from within the ranks of Bullet Club – 2018’s villain of the year was called out by The Villain, in Bullet Club’s resident Englishman, Marty Scurll.

Of course, Scurll’s challenge was heard by everyone and Jericho and Impact seem genuinely excited of the proposition of Scurll facing Callihan, in the ultimate Villain showdown.

Sami Callihan was less diplomatic.

This will mark the second interaction between an Impact star and a Bullet Club member this year, as the newest member, “Bone Soldier” Taiji Ishimori is returning to Impact for Slammiversary XVI on July 22 in Toronto as part of an amazing four way match between Ishimori vs. Johnny Impact (Morrison) vs. Rich Swann vs. Fenix.

With Callihan vs. Scurll now booked as the first non-Sea of Honor match, it will be interesting to see if it stays a singles match or if Callihan’s oVe partners – Dave & Jake Crist – get inserted to make it a 6-man tag match, with Scurll either alongside Cody Rhodes and Hangman Page, or with The Young Bucks.

You can get more info on the last remaining tickets at the Cruise of Jericho’s official website.
