Just days before RISE Wrestling‘s biggest event to date, a co-production with Impact Wrestling entitled RISE of the Knockouts, Phoenix of RISE Champion Delilah Doom has announced that she has to relinquish the company’s top title due to injuries sustained following her June 29 title defense against Shotzi Blackheart at RISE 8 in California. The match ended in a no-contest after Paradise Lost, the stable featuring Dust (Zoey Skye) and Raven Ash (Melanie Cruise) and lead by former Knockouts Champion Rosemary, stormed the ring and assaulted Delilah Doom. At first, RISE sent out a vague tweet regarding Paradise Lost’s recent actions, but most of the details were missing.
Paradise Lost have finally gone too far. They have caused more disruption than ever and worse, more physical harm than in the past. @WeAreRosemary, @zoeyskyepro and @melaniecruise77, we will not stand for this. We don’t know how to break this devastating news. But we will soon.

It was followed shortly after by a tweet from RISE owner Kevin Harvey, who released another vague Tweet message.
My heart is in pieces editing these video. They’ll soon be up on @RISEdtwa social media and website.

The impetus of these tweets was finally revealed, when RISE released a video featuring Phoenix of RISE Champion Delilah Doom this evening, explaining what the previous messages were about. Following the assault at RISE 8, Doom sustained an injury that has since been diagnosed as a broken ankle, and due to the injury, she is relinquishing her title prior to her scheduled rematch with Shotzi Blackheart at RISE of the Knockouts this Saturday.
Doom is the third ever Phoenix of RISE Champion in the company’s two year existence, holding it for 235 days. She fell just short of the record of 244 days, held by her challenger, Shotzi Blackheart. The inaugural champion was one of Doom’s assailants, Dust (then going by Angel Dust), who defeated Britt Baker, Kate Carney and Doom herself in a Fatal Four Way at RISE 1 to crown the first ever RISE Champion.

RISE officials will be announcing a new main event shortly to crown the fourth Phoenix of RISE Champion.
We have a Main Event in peril. We have a relinquished Phoenix of RISE Championship. We have RISE 9 in 72 hours… We have an announcement coming soon at https://t.co/d27kv1SFGM.
