Earlier today, RISE Wrestling – the women’s developmental promotion based out of the Chicago, Illinois area – announced that new Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Su Yung will be defending her championship at RISE 9: RISE of the Knockouts on July 7. RISE has recently entered into a working alliance with Impact Wrestling, with the first talent sharing taking place this past weekend for the Impact tapings in Windsor, Ontario, Canada that saw Shotzi Blackheart make her debut in the Impact Knockouts division.

At first, her challenger was unknown, but earlier this evening, RISE finally announced who Su Yung’s challenger would be at RISE 9 and it’s none other than the First Lady of UK Wrestling, Sweet Saraya. Sweet Saraya – better known as Saraya Knight – is the matriarch of one of the United Kingdom’s great wrestling families, that includes her husband Ricky Knight (with whom she co-founded World Association of Wrestling (WAW) in Norfolk in the early 90s), plus their sons Roy Knight and Zak Knight (who tag team as The UK Hooligans) and their daughter, WWE Superstar Paige. Alongside multiple UK titles, Saraya is also a former SHIMMER Champion in the US.
