Preview: wXw True Colors 2018 (4/14/18)

wXw returns with wXw True Colors 2018 as the next Marquee-Event after 16 Carat Gold 2018. This Card sets the way for the next months with WALTER challenging for the Unified World Championship and a TLC match for a Championship opportunity.

Audrey Bride vs Killer Kelly

Audrey is making her debut for wXw at this show. The Hungarian woman has been active in the squared circle since 2011. Her opponent is the former and first-ever wXw Women´s Champion, Killer Kelly. The Portuguese 26-year-old recently wrestled in the UK for RevPro and EVE. During wXw´s show in London, she defeated Millie McKenzie in a bloody fight.

Prediction: Killer Kelly

Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match: Absolute Andy vs Marius Al-Ani

The feud between these two former teammates goes way back. It seemed it had been settled at 16 Carat Gold 2018, where they had a first-round match. Andy won the match and the whole tournament, but only due to doubtful tactics ( shoving the ref, low-blows, foreign objects). The Title shot that the winner of the 16 Carat Gold gets is on the line here, so Marius Al-Ani has the chance to redeem his loss from Europe’s biggest wrestling tournament. This stipulation means that everything is possible and the two men fighting can do anything that is necessary to score the win and get the title opportunity.

3-Way for the wXw World Tag Team Championship (vacated): Jay-FK (Jay Skillet & Francis Kaspin) vs LAX (Santana & Ortiz) vs Monster Consulting (Julian Nero & AVALANCHE)

So this match came about when “Bad Bones” John Klinger recently got suspended by wXw, subsequently losing all his titles. He held the World Tag Team Championship with Da Mack after they won them from RINGKAMPF at 16 Carat Gold 2018. Monster Consulting are beloved by the UK fanbase of wXw, they got chanted for during their entire matches at 16 Carat Gold. The Irish fans love AVALANCHE especially. LAX are back after their impressive showing during the wXw World Tag League 2017. Jay-FK will be the speed factor in this bout. it will be interesting to see which team will be victorious, especially when you consider the circumstances under which this title match emerged.

Prediction: Monster Consulting

wXw Shotgun Championship: Bobby Gunns (c) vs Alexander James vs Lucky Kid vs Mark Davis

Heels and Faces don´t exist anymore, because Bobby Gunns got constant and loud cheers during the 16 Carat Gold, although he portrays a cocky, smoking and kind of misogynistic wrestler. The way he delivers his promos is great and his charisma is on par with the top guys in the industry. RISE member Lucky Kid was another fan favourite during the 16 Carat weekend, his unique presentation of his gimmick combined with High-Flying manoeuvres makes for something very special that could lead to international success over the next few years. James returned to wXw and is a good addition to the match. He´s a solid wrestler and has a very versatile moveset which makes him a believable participant in every title match. Mark Davis is one half of the breakout team “Aussie Open” who recently wrestled to the finals of Fight Club:Pro´s Dream Tag Team Invitational and also wrestled Juice Robinson and Hiroshi Tanahashi during the NOLA weekend.

Prediction: Mark Davis wins the wXw Shotgun Championship

wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs WALTER

Photo: wXw

One of the loudest pops ever shook the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany when Ilja Dragunov returned for the  Unified World Wrestling Championship 3-Way-Dance against WALTER and then Champion John Klinger at 16 Carat Gold 2018. Grown men were crying. He captured the title after a match, in which WALTER bloodied his chest just like in their 16 Carat Gold final 2017. He defended his championship against Matt Riddle on Night 3 of the tournament in another hard-hitting match. WALTER has been very successful internationally and competes regularly for PROGRESS, PWG, EVOLVE etc. This match decides the real champion and face of wXw.

Prediction: a bloody Ilja Dragunov retains.
