WrestleMania Week Olympics: Standings After Saturday

WrestleMania week is chock full of WWE and indie events starting on Thursday night, with multiple promotions running showcases (often in conjunction with each other) every day and night. With so many top events, multiple wrestlers are performing many matches over the course of the week, some competing multiple times a night or day. In the spirit of good fun, we’ll keep track of everyone’s performance over the week to see who takes the Gold Medal for most performances over the week. Here’s the leaders after Night Three, that included AAW/PWR/FCP Pancakes & Piledrivers II, NXT Takeover: New Orleans, WrestleMania Axxess, ROH Supercard of Honor XII, House of Hardcore 40, SHIMMER 100, and PROGRESS Chapter 67. For tie breakers, we’ll be assigning a point system – 3 pts for a WIN, 2 pts per member for a Tag Team WIN, 1 pt for a NO CONTEST or WIN BY DQ, 5 pts for a WIN that wins a Championship.

MATT RIDDLE, 8 matches (6 Singles Wins, 1 Singles Loss, 1 Tag Team Loss, Won EVOLVE Championship) 20pts

Matt Riddle had somewhat of a lax day on Saturday, only taking part in a 6-man tag match at PROGRESS Chapter 67, with his team with Keith Lee and David Starr losing to Jimmy Havoc, Mark Haskins and Morgan Flash Webster. It bumped his total up to 8 matches though, and he still remains tied for the lead.

WALTER, 8 matches (3 Singles Wins, 2 Tag Team Wins, 2 Singles Loss, 1 Tag Team Loss), 13pts

Germany’s WALTER had two matches on Saturday, first defeating Zack Sabre Jr for the #1 Contendership to Travis Banks’ PROGRESS World title at PROGRESS Chapter 67, before heading to WrestleMania Axxess, where he faced Kassius Ohno in a slugfest (Ohno took the win). But those two matches push him into a tie for first place with Matt Riddle, at 8 matches for the week.

JEFF COBB/MATANZA, 8 matches (4 Singles Wins, 4 Singles Losses)

Jeff Cobb pulled into a tie for first place on Saturday, with three matches, first defeating Shane Strickland at Pancakes & Piledrivers in the morning, then losing a PROGRESS Championship match against Travis Banks at PROGRESS Chapter 67. He then lost to Joe Gacy at CZW Welcome to the Combat Zone.

WILL OSPREAY, 7 matches (4 Singles Wins, 1 Tag Team Win, 1 Singles Loss, 1 Tag Team Loss), 14 pts

Ospreay fell off the pace after Friday, but he’s jumped back up to within one of the lead after two more matches on Saturday. In tag team action at PROGRESS Chapter 67, his team with Kay Lee Ray was defeated by Jinny & Austin Theory, but he picked up a singles win later in the evening at CZW Welcome to the Combat Zone over Dezmond Xavier.

CHRIS DICKINSON, 7 matches (1 Singles Win, 2 Tag Team Win, 2 Tag Team Losses, 1 Singles Loss, 1 Clusterf*ck Loss), 7pts

Doom Patrol’s Chris Dickinson continued his pace, but only had one match on Saturday, as he and his EVOLVE Tag Team Champion partner Jaka faced Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch (Martin Stone) in a title defence at WrestleMania Axxess.
