Enzo Amore Reportedly Suspended Over Rape Allegations

EDIT: WWE has now publicly confirmed Enzo Amore’s suspension.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has reported that WWE has told them that current WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore has indeed been suspended pending the results of an investigation into an alleged rape back in October of 2017.

The alleged sexual assault occurred on in mid-October while in Phoenix, AZ and today the alleged victim posted details on the incident. In the statement and subsequent screenshots and thread, the alleged victim states that she was invited back to a hotel room to party with Enzo Amore and two other people (one of which being former A$AP Mob protege Tyler Grosso), partook in multiple recreational drugs, and after going into a “psychosis” from the drug intake, was raped by the WWE Superstar.

According to Ryan Satin’s report, the police are aware of the incident and are investigating this fully, just awaiting final lab reports. In the meantime, the WWE responded to Ryan Satin’s request for info by stating “WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving sexual harassment or sexual assault. Until this matter is resolved, Eric Arndt (aka Enzo Amore) has been suspended.” Satin also provided an update on how long the investigation has been going on on his Twitter.

Enzo Amore was schedule to defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble against Cedric Alexander, but while the investigation continues, Enzo will clearly not be in Philadelphia for the match. Whether the WWE decides to hold off until the investigation concludes or strips him of his title and possibly make this Sunday’s match to determine the new Cruiserweight Champion is yet to be announced. Oddly enough, this marks the second time that someone in Cedric Alexander’s storyline has been suspended due to questionable conduct – he gained his spot against Enzo Amore as the #1 Contender after his tag team partner Rich Swann was suspended for domestic abuse allegations back in early December.
