NXT’s Oney Lorcan Appearing for Beyond Wrestling

Days after the UK’s Preston City Wrestling announced that former PCW Heavyweight Champion Apollo Crews was returning for one night from the WWE for an event in February, Beyond Wrestling shared their own huge WWE talent loan news yesterday that Oney Lorcan would be appearing at their New Year’s Eve show. While Lorcan will be wrestling, his match would only be seen by the live audience and not as part of their stream of the event.

Oney Lorcan was a regular with Beyond Wrestling from 2012 to 2015, when he wrestled as Bif Busick, prior to him joining WWE’s NXT brand. During his time with Beyond, Busick had a heated feud with current Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards, as well as big matches against Kevin Steen (nee Owens), Mike “Speedball” Bailey, Donovan Dijak, and others, as well as frequently tagging with partner Drew Gulak. His last match with Beyond was against Eddie Edwards at Beyond’s Greatest Rivals Tournament (where he also faced Drew Gulak and Timothy Thatcher) on September 26, 2015. Lorcan is currently heating up in NXT as part of a new tag team with UK veteran Danny Burch (aka Martin Stone).

Along with the announcement of his return to Beyond, they announced the release of two new DVD collections for Bif Busick, Best of Bif Busick in Beyond Wrestling, as well as a Greatest Rivals collection, chronicling the feud with Edwards.

In the past year, several stars, such as Noam Dar and Kassius Ohno have appeared for ICW in Scotland, while Jack Gallagher and Aleister Black have appeared for PROGRESS, and Apollo Crews now heading to PCW. Finn Balor has appeared for Ireland’s OTT, ICW and PROGRESS when he was rehabbing his injury. Stateside, AJ Styles has appeared at NWA Wildside and Cedric Alexander recently wrestled for EVOLVE.
