BREAKING: Nick Aldis Wins NWA World Heavyweight Championship

Nick Aldis

The reign of Tim Storm has ended. After 414 days, tonight at CZW Cage of Death XIX, Nick Aldis (formerly Magnus in Impact Wrestling) defeated Tim Storm to become the 93rd reign of the NWA World Heavyweight title since its inception in 1948. The title change was confirmed by both the NWA and CZW. This marks Nick Aldis’ second World Championship, having held the TNA Impact World Heavyweight Championship for 128 days back in 2013.

With the win, Aldis becomes just the second NWA World Heavyweight Champion ever from the United Kingdom in its near 70 year history. The first was Gravesend, England’s Gary Steele, who won the NWA World title in a three-way match in 1999 against NJPW’s Naoya Ogawa (the reigning champion) and Brian Anthony.
