Smash Wrestling Goes International With Fight Network

Toronto’s Smash Wrestling has been making waves on the Canadian independent circuit since 2011, bringing in so many top national and US indie stars that many began to refer to Smash as “PWG North”. They’ve become the Canadian home base for such stars as Johnny Gargano (a former Smash Champion), Joey Ryan, Sami Callihan, Mark Haskins and Jimmy Havoc, as well as a hometown hangout for Canadian wrestlers like Rosemary, Allie, Michael Elgin and more. Over the past few years they’ve grown from a burgeoning new indie promotion to the most followed Canadian promotion on Social Media, with an On-Demand Service that’s partnered with and showcases events with PROGRESS, BAR Wrestling (Joey Ryan’s new promotion out of California) and another California promotion, Pacific Coast Wrestling (PCW).

Smash Wrestling began in 2011, started by Sebastian Dastranj (known to many wrestling fans as Sebastian Suave). Together with James Kee and Alan Taylor, the trio run the creative for Smash, with Kee also running the PR side, with Taylor handling production for the television product, which they run through their own Smash On Demand. In other huge Smash news, they also recently got picked up by the Highspots Network, the official online home of PWG and CZW.

But the big news out of today was that Smash would be starting a weekly show on The Fight Network, starting July 20th of this month, available every Thursday at 10pm, directly following Global Force Wrestling Impact Wrestling. Replays will air the following Tuesdays at 8pm, and then available 24 hours later on their own Smash On Demand. The show will be made available in over 30 different countries, not including those reached by the online services.

Currently entitled Smash Wrestling on the Fight Network, the show will be one hour in length and will initially feature matches from the prior GOLD tournament (which crowned a new #1 contender to Smash Champion Tyson Dux‘s crown), plus various standout matches from the past year. Once GOLD is completed, all future events will then air in one hour increments as the show follows the trials and tribulations of Canada’s fastest growing indie promotion.

Tune in to Smash Wrestling on The Fight Network for their debut episode, July 20, 2017 at 10pm!
