The Seattle Seahawks and former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch are reportedly interested in a potential reunion, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The one-time Super Bowl champion last played for the Oakland Raiders but spent six years as Seattle’s lead running back.

Report: Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks “Open to a Reunion”
Seattle is desperate for help at the running back position. Not long after losing former first-round pick Rashaad Penny to injured reserve, the Seahawks also lost starter Chris Carson and backup C.J. Prosise. With only Travis Homer atop the depth chart, the Seahawks are clearly looking for help for the postseason.
Lynch’s best days obviously came as the feature back for the Seattle Seahawks. Serving as the focal point of the offense, Lynch recorded 1,457 carries for 6,347 yards and 57 touchdowns during his six-year tenure in Seattle. The star running back’s physical style of play helped Seattle win Super Bowl 48 and make it to Super Bowl 49. His signature play, of course, came in the 2010 Wild Card Round against the New Orleans Saints, when his game-sealing touchdown run caused a minor earthquake in the Seattle area.
Marshawn Lynch last played for the Oakland Raiders during the 2018 season. Appearing in six games, the former first-round pick recorded 376 yards and three touchdowns on 90 carries to go along with 15 receptions for 84 yards on 20 targets. One year earlier, Lynch appeared in 15 games for the Raiders and recorded 207 carries for 891 yards and seven touchdowns.
Lynch initially entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Selected by the Buffalo Bills, Lynch recorded 280 rushing attempts for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie. He appeared in 13 games and started in all of them. After playing 45 games in Buffalo, the Bills shipped him off to the Seattle Seahawks, where he had most of his success. After a brief retirement, Lynch joined the Oakland Raiders for two seasons. As of right now, Lynch has accumulated 10,379 rushing yards and 84 touchdowns on 2,441 regular season rushing attempts.
