James Cook Injury Update: RB’s Status Revealed For Bills-Dolphins

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook missed Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, but fans and fantasy football managers alike shouldn’t be too nervous. The homegrown star returned to practice on Thursday, albeit as a limited participant, and does not carry a game status as of this posting. While nothing is official as of yet, this heavily suggests the running back will suit up for Sunday’s battle against the Miami Dolphins.

James Cook Injury Update: Star RB (Ankle) Limited In Practice

James Cook has been nothing short of phenomenal for the Buffalo Bills, and hopefully, this ankle injury does not dramatically impact his on-field ability. Starting and appearing in eight games, the fourth-year veteran has already recorded 867 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 153 attempts. He leads the league in yards per carry (5.7) and yards per game (108.4) while justifying his four-year, $48 million contract.

While James Cook is a fantastic player, the Bills shouldn’t need his help to defeat the Miami Dolphins if the ankle injury sidelines him. This team has been one of the worst in the league throughout the season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Their inability to get after the quarterback and stop the run will only worsen with former first-round pick Jaelan Phillips in Philadelphia.

If Cook plays, he should dominate on the ground and put up another electric performance. However, if he can’t go, the duo of Ty Johnson and Ray Davis should be good enough to keep this offense moving forward. With Josh Allen in the thick of the MVP race and this team needing a win to keep up with the New England Patriots in the division, look for Buffalo to comfortably take control of this contest.
