After months of rumors, the Las Vegas Raiders executed a trade that will send superstar wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets. Raiders, Jets, Agree to Davante Adams Trade

Davante Adams originally joined the Raiders in an offseason trade back in 2022. Wanting to play with quarterback Derek Carr, Adams was supposed to be the missing piece to guide Vegas on a deep postseason run led by first-year head coach Josh McDaniels. That didn’t go to plan, but Adams held up his end of the bargain. During his first season with the Raiders, the wide receiver recorded 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdown receptions. McDaniels cut Derek Carr after the season, and Adams’ numbers plummeted under Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O’Connell. Now with his 32nd birthday just two months away, the wide receiver requested a trade to a Super Bowl contender.

Adams entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Selected by the Green Bay Packers, the Fresno State product needed some time to adjust to life in the NFL. The wide receiver recorded just 38 receptions for 446 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie and followed it up with 50 receptions for 483 yards and a touchdown on 94 targets in 2015. At this point, some questioned whether Adams would ever live up to his pre-draft potential.

Something clicked during his third season i the NFL, as Davante Adams finally put it all together. The former second-round pick recorded 75 receptions for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2016 and then went on a six-year run where he recorded a combined 606 receptions for 7,711 yards and 71 touchdowns while making six straight Pro Bowls and three First-Team All-Pro teams.
