Outside linebacker Matt Milano has signed a new four-year contract with the Buffalo Bills worth $44 million. Milano has played the past four seasons with the Buffalo Bills racking up a total of 273 total tackles, 25 quarterback hits, 21 pass defenses, and five interceptions. He finished 2020 with a career-low overall grade of 55.8 per Pro Football Focus. Milano will turn 27 years old this coming July.

Matt Milano, Buffalo Bills, Agree to Contract
Milano was selected by the Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the 163rd overall pick. He began the season as a primary special teamer but eared his first start Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The outside linebacker played a total of 41 defensive snaps and tallied four total tackles. Milano would not see another start until Week 14 where he recorded a season-high 11 total tackles on 51 defensive snaps. He would then start the Bills remaining three games, finishing the season with 49 tackles, seven tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, and two pass defenses.
2018 was debatably Milano’s best season as a pro so far. Milano began the year as the Bills starting weakside linebacker, starting each of the 13 games he played while recording career-highs in each tackles for loss, interceptions, fumbles recovered, and passer rating allowed. His high-impact plays landed him a career-best 76.1 overall grade per PFF. He was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Week during the Bills Week 3 win over the Minnesota Vikings — registering eight tackles, one sack, one interception, and two pass defenses
After missing the final three games of the 2018 season, Milano started the most games in a single season of his career in 2019. He played a career-high 894 defensive snaps and set a career-high with 101 combined tackles.
Milano’s 2020 was hampered by injuries. Both a pectoral and hamstring injury limited the outside linebacker to just 10 games and a career-low in single-season snaps. He was, however, able to play in each of the Bills three playoff games last season. Milano finished the season with 45 total tackles, nine Qb hits, 3.5 sacks, and three pass defenses.
