J.K. Dobbins Signs Contract With Denver Broncos

Six-year veteran running back J.K. Dobbins signed a new contract with the Denver Broncos. Dobbins, a former second-round pick, spent the 2025 season with the Denver Broncos but also played for the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite the new environment, the 2025 season played a familiar tune for J.K. Dobbins. The running back appeared in 10 games, making nine starts, and largely looked effective while on the field. During his first year with the Orange Crush, the veteran recorded 772 rushing yards and four touchdowns to go along with 11 receptions for 37 yards. However, as is often the case with Dobbins, he suffered a serious injury and missed the back half of the season. Denver made it to the AFC Championship Game but ultimately fell short to the New England Patriots.

J.K. Dobbins originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Baltimore Ravens, the Ohio State product spent most of his rookie season splitting carries with veteran Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards. Appearing in 15 games while making one start, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 805 yards and nine touchdowns on 134 attempts, to go along with 18 receptions for 120 yards.

After that promising rookie season, Dobbins appeared ready to take over the starting role in Baltimore. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL and missed the entire season. While he returned to the field in 2022, he wasn’t his normal self, and the knee injury resurfaced. In total, he appeared in just eight games in 2022, recording 520 yards and two touchdowns on 92 attempts.

Dobbins entered the 2023 season with a clean bill of health and hoped to earn a long-term extension. Unfortunately, he suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1 after just 10 touches. He had to sign a one-year deal with the Chargers. While he played well, he still missed four games to injury.
