3. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals had the worst defense in football in each of the past two seasons, and they must do something to fix it. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins have the talent to go blow-for-blow with any offense in the league, but Cincinnati can’t rely on beating every team 42-38. Trey Hendrickson probably won’t re-sign with the Bengals, and first-round pick Shemar Stewart has not done much to inspire confidence, so the team might as well try to trade for Maxx Crosby.
One pass rusher cannot singlehandedly fix a defense, but adding a playmaker like Crosby would ensure the Bengals have at least one premier playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. If they can pair him with an upgraded secondary, this defense should be good enough to get this team back to the playoffs.
