Statistically speaking, first-overall pick Cam Ward is one of the worst quarterbacks in football. However, it’s impossible to accurately evaluate the Miami product in this disastrous environment. The Titans have the league’s worst combination of weapons, blocking, and coaching, and no young quarterback could succeed in this environment. The Titans must provide Ward with some type of support, and that could start with signing Isaiah Likely.
Likely will not single-handedly determine if Ward becomes a franchise quarterback, but young tight ends can be the best thing for a young passer. This team is not a tight end away from competing, but he could be a key part of the inevitable rebuild.
