First Look: Cam Ward At NFLPA Rookie Premiere

The 2025 rookie class gets its star turn in the sunshine as the 31st annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere is underway through the weekend. Tennessee’s first overall selection, Cam Ward, is at the Rookie Premiere getting suited and booted. This event marks his final meeting with his classmates before they begin their professional journeys in various locales.

How does the Titans’ new franchise signal caller look in his new duds?

Houston Oilers legend Warren Moonย blessed the former Miami Hurricanes star passer to wear the number that made him iconic. It will be a couple of months before Ward can start living up to Moon’s legacy on the field. The NFLPA rookie premiere and clips out of rookie minicamp have given Titans fans tiny morsels. This event will be the first chance for Ward to show off his effervescent personality without the seemingly eternal presence of Mel Kiper, Jr, continually stumping for his good friend.

Ward, friend/workout partner/Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders shared a moment of levity over a proposed jersey swap. Sanders made light of his financial compensation as a fifth-round selection compared to Ward’s more generous fiscal package as the top draft choice.

Running Backs Galore

Ward wasn’t the only collegiate star at the event; a passel of talented running backs also got to show off their jerseys to the adoring masses.

Generational Heisman

The league gets its first look at the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and second overall selection, Travis Hunter, in his new professional uniform. He will rock the 12 that he made iconic at Colorado for Jacksonville. However, if a particular Jaguars legend and many others (including this author) have their way, Hunter won’t wear the garishly terrible uniforms for long. Hall of Fame OT Tony Boselli wants the organization to make the 2000s throwbacks permanent.

Triple Threat of Six

Seattle’s Jalen Milroe shows his new jersey number as former Titans linebacker Ernest Jones occupies his college number. Maybe Milroe can become doubly greater than Russell Wilson’s 3.

New York’s latest attempt at finding a franchise quarterback, Jaxson Dart, is wearing six because cornerback Deonte Banks is wearing Dart’s college number of 2.

New Orleans’ second-round rookie Tyler Shough has chosen the number 6 since his Louisville number (9) will never be worn again in the Crescent City. Drew Brees is on his way to the Hall of Fame in that number, and nine will be retired shortly.

Tennessee Titans rookie fourth-round selection Elic Ayomanor joined Ward in representing the franchise at the event. The pair is in the fourth row in the center, next to Isaac TeSlaa, Dart, and a Chargers rookie.
