Kenneth Walker Injury Update: Star RB’s Status Revealed For Seahawks-Titans

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker spent the past week battling a glute injury. Officially listed as questionable, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently tweeted that the former second-round pick is expected to suit up against the Tennessee Titans. While this is not an official report, it’s safe to assume the running back will play, barring a last-second surprise.

Kenneth Walker Injury Update: Seahawks RB Expected to Play Against Titans

This is great news for the Seattle Seahawks, as Kenneth Walker has easily been the team’s best running back. Splitting snaps with Zach Charbonnet, the 25-year-old has recorded 606 yards and four touchdowns on 136 attempts (4.5 yards per carry) as he enters the final year of his contract. Charbonnet, meanwhile, has turned his 105 attempts into just 350 yards (3.3 yards per attempt) but has found the endzone six times.

While having Kenneth Walker is nice, the Seahawks probably could survive without his services if he has to miss the game to his glute injury. Seattle faces off against a Tennessee Titans team that simply cannot get out of its own way. At 1-9, the team currently owns the worst record in football, and it’s easy to see why. First-overall pick Cam Ward has struggled statistically, but it’s hard to blame him when he’s playing in such a terrible environment. The skill players are bad, the coaching is worse, and the offensive line might be the worst in football. There is no such thing as an easy win in the NFL, but the Seahawks should win this game comfortably.

Frankly, they cannot afford to lose a trap game like this. While their 7-3 record gives them an inside track to the playoffs, they’re currently behind the Los Angeles Rams in the AFC West and only a half-game ahead of the San Francisco 49ers.
